I think your UI looks a lot nicer than blizzard's
While I have a lot of nostalgia for the old battle.net UI, it definitely clashed a bit with the style of the rest of the game. I'm honestly fine with the new PTR UI but I wouldn't mind if they shifted it around a bit to resemble the old battle.net UI like yours does.

Why can't we just choose the skin?

I love what you did HaN- from France.
man your design is sooooooo much better than blizzards
Excellent mock-up, hope Blizzard just unabashedly copy your design going forward. But their artistic pride would no doubt never let them go that route
Edit: Though if I may make one suggestion for a possible variation on your design -- Perhaps add some 3-dimensionality to the left side button-column, making them more block-like and similar in style to the original design. Not for nostalgia's sake, but more so because their clunky appearance together with that punching sound-effect that plays when you click them really makes for a sort of satisfying experience navigating through the various menus.

I love the little chat you've put there. Oh, and love the UI even more.
great work and suggestion @HaN- I would gladly use it + would like to see if anyone else present more options
Wow your UI mockup looks great! How did you even make that?
That's nice! I'd write a respectful post suggesting this or something towards this on their Feedback thread.
It's simple, reminds me of the old one! Something I'd like to keep with the PTR UI though, is the red frames, green colour for "Join", "create" etc. I think it thematically should remain more BW than SC2, that details like that could be key for this.
So I love the direction and how u set it all up. Throw in some more BW feeling and I'm 100% aboard!

the current one is bad, feel empty like sc2, i liek the original or your

I collected graphical elements from Blizzard Starcraft website and then did a montage with Photoshop.

That looks cool !! You basically did what I thought Blizz should do... a newer style, but with a lot of the same features/interface design as the old Battle.net
The one now is like the shitty screen you hit enter through to get to B.net or when that rare time you'd be using Hamachi CC or LAN play. Such a dark dark screen.. like you're hiding on some distant moon avoiding all war duties :D
nice job Han, your interface looks good and with more functions? :D
I think you should rework the button "social", why replace it with friends? Social is not 100 % clear, especially if you have new players testing this interface. Is this the long waited facebook integration for bw?
Buttons for Play, Training and Ladder? I am not sure if 3 buttons are necessary just to play the game (its not clear enough what training means) I would move the profile button below the social tab and it has to be discussed if a profile button is needed.
Overall my excitement for the new interface (1.18) is gone, its definitely harder to go places. I like your design!

Your interface looks really pleasant and still keeps all of the old information. Very nice job
I really hope they use it for the future!
omfg it looks amazing, the side options really make a ton of difference.
i hope you post this on blizzard's forum
Definitely yours over both. Good work mate.
I'll need some time to get used to the PTR one personally.
I think the PTR one has the right idea as it follows the same design as other menus, it needs a bit of work still but it's on the right track.
OP's interface looks sick as hell. He has the right idea behind it. It needs to be DIFFERENT from single player menus.
omfg your UI looks so good. I hope they use it. the side options make it perfect! PLEASE BLIZZARD
I like your UI my only change would be making the ranks on the side (D,C,B, etc) as large as they are in the first picture
HaN's design looks great. Wish they'd copy it.
it looks amazing! well done!
I really like it, good work man

I hope blizzard pick yours

Your design clearly looks so much better than the actual in PTR, but i would change some stuff from the layout to make it "easier to use":
1) I think that the idea from Blizzard to put together the Friend list with channel list is not that bad, since it's all about players but surely they should make it nicer.
2) The option "play" from the left side bar of your desing should be a drop-down list with options like "join", "create", "matchmaking", "practice" and others that may appear.
3) The way to look at someone's profile shouldn't change the whole screen, they could instead make it a pop-out desing that shows up on left of the player by clicking into their nick and that disappears by moving the mouse out of the player's square or clicking once again
stop teasing us with SCR's great potential lmao

regarding icons, I think its nice if there are icons that dont necessarily show 1v1 or ladder ranks but also just nice looking icons for playing non competitively like in original bnet, some people dont have big interest in competitive but still like to have nice icon makes it all feel more relaxed perhaps for example you could choose to display your 1v1 ladder rank, or 2v2 rank, or just another icon that you earned for a number of wins using a particular race or etc? maybe even give a choice for example, when you have 500 P wins, there are several P icons you can pick from for 500 wins? just suggestion; so everyone can go for their own thing and personalize?

jesus, i mean artist, amazing job. goosebumps and tears :D

This is really perfect, I hope blizzard sees it and that it's feasible to implement.
Kinda reminds me of this old thing: + Show Spoiler +
Although I like the features in OP's mockup a lot more, I'm not convinced that it's wrong to keep the same aesthetics as the rest of the game. While there is merit in changing the background or improving the responsiveness or adding more features, I personally thought that the game's regular UI felt slick and clean.
I like your UI! If Blizzard does not make it, the fans will instead.
Looks cool tbh, but I like darker backgrounds that help reading for more than 20 secs. Keep your designs coming, Blizzard will eventually sell theirs as skins :v .
That looks sick! Only think I would like is to let users to choose some different images and/or color backgrounds. Personally I still like and prefer typing at dark battle.net screen.
Dude wtf your UI shits on theirs, that looks amazing
HaN's interface looks great, I think Blizzard devs should be noted about that. I would keep their idea of separate friend's list, though.

It looks so good that now im angry with the shitty ui blizzard came with.like seriously? How can a team of 25 people come with something so cheap in every aspect

I feel the same way. It's almost like they have some old timer working on their stuff that hasn't updated his skill set since 2002 or something ^_^
Blizz.. if you're reading this, I support you, but we all agree that the UI needs some work Please take some notes here. I would place a bet that a lot of us here have actually played more BW and have been around it longer than some of the developers currently working on it.
I like yours, nice work! But then I'm not incredibly nostalgic about BW either.

Original > Yours >>>>>>>>>>> 1.8
I liked the old black background, made it feel not gimmicky and more like a simple, normal place to write text. Still feel that the old colours are more friendly and warm, and I like the whisper button on the bottom right in the original: makes it simple to message someone without having to type /w [username].
Overall, nice initiative, nice design, and definitely a move in the right direction.
Edit: It's also probably the power of habit, but yours is probably one I could accept / get used to The more I look at it, the more I like it. But yeah, bring back the whisper button :D
I feel like your UI has a few of the major issues the current 1.18 one does, it is primarily cold colours still which makes it feel lonely.

maybe consider getting a pet, like a guinea pig. abyssinians are cute
