Was browsing through YGOSU, and thought I'd translate.
After the match-fixing incident, the exchange of practice between teams became less frequent. It was almost non-existent in the case of Samsung Khan according to Stork. However, there was mutual trust between KT Rolster and Woongjin Stars (due to the close relationship between the coach of Woongjin, H.O.T-Forever, and Reach created back when they all worked together).
1. The limitation of SK Terran
When Flash first saw the late-mechanic play from FanTaSy, he thought it wasn't anything special. He won 90% of his practice games versus KT Rolster zergs without needing to resort to late-mech. He didn't feel the need to try anything new.
What Flash prefered instead, was his own breed of hybridization of SK Terran and mass tanks, that he first showcased against Calm in EVER 2009 OGN StarLeague.
When Woongjin Stars terrans first saw FanTaSy's late-mech play in the ProLeague in 2009, they were impressed by how sensational it was, and practiced this new method of play right away.
The result? It was horrendous against the Woongjin Stars zergs.
KT Rolster terrans: Late-mech sucks. The transitional phase is probably too risky.
KT Rolster zergs: Flash said it probably sucks.
Woongjin Stars terrans: Woah this strategy is awesome! Wait, why are we losing with it so much?
Woongjin Stars zergs: Late-mech sucks. ZerO lost the ACE match versus FanTaSy because it was a one-off cheese strategy.
Then KT Rolster and Woongjin Stars started to practice together.
Flash lost 0:4 to ZerO, then lost 0:4 to SoulKey also.
Flash was quite stubborn, and was averse to trying out new strategies. But after feeling the limitations of his style of play, he decided to learn this new style of play.
The KT Rolster coaches now realized how horrid their zerg line-up was.
2. Flash learns late-mech
After Flash got used to late-mech, both ZerO and SoulKey started to get their asses whooped by Flash. After beating down Woongjin Stars terrans, they realized how broken the strategy was.
The Woongjin Stars coaches now realized how horrid their terran line-up was.
KT Rolster adds Action and Crazy to their line-up.
Woongjin Stars add Really and Light to their line-up.
3. The aftermath
After adjusting to Flash's brand of late-mech, SoulKey managed to raise his win rate versus Flash during practice to around 50%. ZerO never recovered.
ZerO during one of his broadcasts:
"KT Rolster would used to call up, and say, is ZerO avilable for practice? After a while, they would ask for SoulKey instead, and if we ever said he wasn't available and ZerO was the only one around, they would hang up."
4. Lee-Ssang Rok
Whenever Flash played versus Jaedong, Woongjin Stars zergs would help Flash practice, and KT Rolster would buy them chicken for helping out. Everyone in Woongjin Stars loved it whenever Flash and Jaedong reached the finals, except for ZerO and SoulKey, they had no time to eat due how much Flash would make them practice with him.
