Scan didn't prove anything as far as I'm concerned.
He didn't win the bet. But he did prove to an extent that dong222 isn't B rank zerg. Scan was winning pretty easily as well with OFF RACE at 4am.... We don't know if dong222 played in same condition and it's also safe to assume that Zerg is Dong's main race. So the conditions will never be exact.
I didn't say Scan proved it 100%, I said he "proved it pretty well." I'm standing by this.
man you just never give up, do you.

I just think it looks pretty dumb to hijack a thread and say that a guy who went 92-0 isn't near being good. On top of that making a statement like "from what i saw on the replays I am sure I can beat the guy who lost vs the 92-0 guy 14-0 with my offrace". Then - AFTER FAILING - complaining about having to play offrace (which was his and noone else idea?) and about the time of the showmatch (after agreeing and being offered other times!), makes him just look like a bad loser.
All I am saying is, that the way he acts makes him look a really bad loser. Finally, in my personal opinion the only haters are the people who keep saying that 92-0 is not impressive at all.
you sir have displayed my sentiments 100%. a cookie for you.

Although scan didn't get the money he got something that i would consider more valuable and that is recognition and followers.
Nice matches guys, thanks for stepping up and actually going through it, was extremely fun to watch.
Haters will hate for personal reasons. Best thing to do is ignore these people and enjoy your day cause nothing good will come from arguing. More often than not salty people are very arrogant and near impossible to sway to see things from your point of view.
Thanks for the show fellas!
This.
Scan, don't waste your time on ungrateful people who don't know their asshole from their earhole. The event was a huge success for everyone involved IMO, and would love to see more.
EDIT: Also if there is any more support for Bonyth vs. Scan besides mca64, I'll make the thread. Bonyth, if you're seeing this, would you be interested?
Funny thing about show matches like Koget vs Scan is that Scan's opponents look really bad or at least mentally challanged. But yeah, I am interested to play against Scan main race for a change :D Friday would be the best time for me to play.

Next time I recommend that you break down the prize pool to something like 80% to the winner and 20% to the loser (or maybe 75%-25%). That way, all the players get something for their time and effort.
Also, just my 2 cents for the dong222 case. It's really impossible to judge how skilled he is until he gets his first loss. If Scan's Zerg got to C on Fish, and he went 11-3 vs. KogeT, all we can say about dong222 is that he's at least C or better on Fish.

It is pretty easy to outmicro someone, if you use that lowlatency program where you will always have minimum response time, independent of the latency settings. Koget had to play with high latency settings while scan had instant response time, not exactly impressive in my opinion.
Scan wasnt using that program.and that program doesnt work the way do u think it works.this lowlatency hack only causes big lag kor vs foreigner.and mostly is the most hard for zerg no inverse
It surely looked like it, though. During his muta micro it looks like much lower delay than high lat.

Those "good" foreigners struggled even with novice korean players if Draco losing to pre-pro Fantasy 2-3 is any indicator.

This was just an unnecessary post and actually isn't even true.
1) Scan played 4am his time. I'm pretty sure no one can play full caliber when it's actually time to sleep. He did this so him and koget could agree on a time to play. This is considered good sportsmanship / being GM.
2) You say "all good foreigners stopped playing" ... Sure, SOME of the good foreigners from past did stop playing, of course. But you do realize players from this generation are actually just as good IF not better. If you recall there was old school vs. new school tournament 1-2 years ago. Old-school players even trained for several months and they got completely demolished. The styles are different, game play is different, etc. Can't make the comparison and all I'm saying is, don't discredit players of today. You will be very surprised.
3) You say "for their pure skill." - So foreigners achieving/maintaining E/D rank Fish is not "pure skill?" What Scan has achieved is not "pure skill" ? This statement literally made no sense at all lol.
4) Scan isn't trying to be funny or provoking as Mistrzzz used to be. Understand the context of this showmatch and why it happened. Scan simply said that dong222 14-0 koget isn't really that impressive and also mainly to prove he's not a B rank zerg. If you ask me, even though Scan did lose a few matches out of 14, I think he still proved his overall point. This is Scan's off race playing at 4am and he only dropped what, 3 matches? I'd say Scan proved his point pretty well.
Bye.
are you his alt name or something
cause god damn you are all over his dick its cringe worthy

No, I don't care about Scan nor do I care about koget. I'm simply making my opinion based on the games that I saw and I just agree with Scan's initial reasoning as to 'why' he did play the match. And I'm simply being open minded to know that it's hard to play at 4am. You can interpret it however you want though.
I actually don't care at all about the foreign scene or any anything that even happens on iccup. Only reason I even cared remotely to see these results were because there was a 'fish' element to it.
And as already stated several times; congrats to both players, it drew many viewers, and everyone had fun. It is what it is.

not true, ToT) won a bunch of clan wars vs top korean west clans, with Daezang, Bisu, Sea, Fantasy just to name a few playing for shield and gnh. Androide beat Silent_Control in wcg 2005. White-ra beat boxer. Fisheye lost 1-2 to ogogo. Testie was playing really close games at the time vs top koreans, and got an invite from CJ Entus.

LOL, Draco wins vs Midas and lose vs iloveoov 1:2 in time when these guys was in top5 Kespa, what are you talking about. Do u see any foreigner who can take a game in serious tournament from top5 korea now?

very true
from what I was told also Draco had pretty close warm up games with iloveoov (before the group round even started) there in Italy if I remember correctly. though I recall stories of Bulgaria's DIDI8 beating BoxeR 5-1 in warm up games in that WCG2001 or 2002 where BoxeR won him on Legacy of Char from behind
Thanks everyone for tuning in and cheering for players. Also big thanks to the donators.
As for my games, I had an easy task - win 1 game - and that's how I prepared my games. (plenty of all-ins/semi all-ins mixed with some strong timings in mid game). I would have played differently knowing I'm playing ladder or for the win.
On a major offtopic, Androide and Draco are the most note-worthy IMO as the best foreigner performers vs top koreans on WCG tournaments On topic - I liked watching the games, splitting the prizepool would be a good idea. Re vs koget, or games vs eon or trutacz or bonyth or lancerx would be great too. They are the most active foreigners atm.
