all having a good internet connection, and those who do not have such people from Latin America and elsewhere.

Isn't SC P2P, so having a third "host' in the game will never make the game faster for two other players?
Perhaps I'm wrong, please correct me if I am.

That system isn't at all relevant to ShieldBattery, our network code is already more sophisticated than that.

I would definitely love to try this out. Fantastic work

I know it's been addressed but to add to it, I think it makes more sense to use in dota due to it being 5v5 since each host can connect to a single server. For broodwar, since it's mostly 1on1, it makes more sense to leave it peer to peer.
If I remember right, with WC3 and Broodwar on bnet the host would act as the server and the rest would connect to it. That rankedgaming service probably wants to eliminate any host advantage.

SC2 has had non ranked ladder for a long time now. How many people play on it though? Back when it was introduced, I played about 12 games on it and never touched it. You can play versus people that do ranked, so everyone that plays ranked . You just won't get affected, but if you win your opponent would lose points and have a loss, but if you lose/win it doesn't affect you at all. nope, I meant how many people play unranked? I think most people will either play ranked or do something else. Also, I always felt like it was a bit silly to mix the two groups. I would want to win a game and eventually get promoted against someone who played seriously, not someone who just followed around and made marines against colossi (as an ex). I don't know about SC2 but in dota2 most people play unranked ladder or customs, it's only ~20% or so who play ranked ladder IIRC.

question regarding mouse sensitivity. i set it at 0 but it feels off. my mouse is set at 5 via chaosplug when i play on fish and iccup and it's good. but SB is a bit different and so I cannot find a speed that is identical to what I use on fish or iccup. is there a workaround? even 0 feels really off and all over the place.

The left-most setting matches your normal desktop mouse speed, the right-most setting matches what that would be at 640x480 resolution (i.e. normal BW full screen resolution). The ticks in between are intervals between those two things. It does *not* touch your Windows mouse sensitivity, and the scale is not the same, so what you set that to normally is fairly irrelevant.
