Last night, Hwang Hyo Jin, aka Sonic, was noticeably absent during last night's cast of ex-MBC vs ex-Stars in the Gabangpop Sonic Proleague, It was revealed during the cast by Kim Carry that Sonic had collapsed earlier that day, and had to be rushed to the hospital.
The following day, Sonic issued a statement on his BBS, apologizing for his absence. He explained that he had resorted to taking medicine to get by the past week, a week which included the production of the FIX 9th Sonic Starleague Grand Finals. (Source)
Sonic currently works full-time as the CEO of Sinbal Farm, a popular shoe company. On top of his responsibilities as CEO, he dedicates an enormous amount of time and effort towards his passion, Starcraft Broodwar. A single cast will span anywhere between two to seven hours for Sonic, and countless more hours are spent on the organization side of his leagues.
With such a strenuous work schedule, it is perhaps surprising to hear that he hadn't collapsed sooner from overworking himself. In his statement, Sonic promises to adjust his condition and to take care of his health, so that this incident does not occur again.

No CEOs need to work a lot too. They don't sit behind their desk doing nothing. Delegate takes time and organization. I can't believe how many hours he works a day since casts are sometimes really long.
I'm in for cards / flowers or something we could send him. Because he is a true hero for the community of Brood War. To show our support.

Sonic really is an amazing workhorse that gets all his motivation from pure passion. He really, really needs to rely on more people though, having everything on his own shoulders isn't good for him. Get well soon hyung!

Hoping for swift recovery. Hopefully he realizes that it's all right to rely on others and take breaks every once in a while. It's better for everyone in the long run.

Good thing that he seems to be recovering at least. I'm not sure I've personally realized how much Sonic actually sacrifices for BW. Needless to say, my BW-fix shouldn't ever have to come at the expense of his health. Hope he gets better soon (and stops pushing himself to hard!)
Going fast is great, but sometimes, Sonic, you just gotta slow down. Take a week or two off, get yourself back on track. Brood War was revived thanks to you, but it can get by without its new savior for a little bit. A Sonic that comes back refreshed after two weeks is far better than a Sonic that works himself to the bone and suffers because of it.
Sonic is absolutely astounding. He single-handily picked up pro-BW and set it back on its feet for us to watch. He did it for no pay and sponsored numerous events. Forget other people, no organisation did more in those past years than he did.
I have absolute respect for him and really hope that this was nothing serious and that he gets better soon. Sonic hwaiting~!

KespA stopped BW. So... no. It's not what they are for It's what they used to be for.
as mentioned, kespa isn't the same organization as before. Sonic can easily partner up with kespa and use them to promote SSL and such and they would help out according to some new policy that they made some time back.
