BW the game that cannot be killed. Weirdly enough since all of the players that actively play BW aren't part of kespa anymore, GOM can have this tournament.

And do you know what, this might work, for KESPA it wouldn't, but for this it might just bring wanted attention, BW has a powerful force (as long as they manage to spread the word)!
So seeing a regular televized individual league is actually possible! Would be a lot more grassroots though, no teams, personal sponsorships at best.

Well it was more like KESPA tried to kill GOM and then GOM tried to kill OGN and KESPA with the help of BLIZZARD who just wanted a cut of all the ESPORTS moneys.
And then I guess RIOT and VALVE killed BLIZZARD with more popular games and a non-cannibalistic marketing strategy.

GomTV stepped away from BW because Kespa killed it, GomTV has been with Blizzard since the BW days. Yeah.
Good idea by GOM. Hopefully they will put as much effort into it as they do with GSL. Guessing part of this is to measure interest in BW and part is to also encourage some BW fans to watch SCII as well so it's a win-win for them. RO8 invite only though. Hopefully they manage to get all the big names. I'm surprised that Jangbi was invited tbh. More so because he's supposedly still under KeSPA's control (hasn't left officially in their book) so hopefully that won't spark a battle between them. Adding Bisu and some other high level players will probably increase interest and would be highly recommended lol. Too bad we won't get to see either Flash or Jaedong but with their BW skills likely decreasing in the last 1-2 years, maybe it's for the best.

Maybe there was some KeSPA strong-arming in the background, but it's just speculation unless there's proof. Plus, I think it's plausible for most of those teams to decline participation back then. MBC OGN and eStro didn't want to benefit their "competitor" (they didn't play in all 3 seasons), SKT and KTF were heavily focused on Proleague (SKT even limiting players from OSL/MSL before), and Airfoce ACE didn't allocate a lot of practice time to their players, which was needed for PL. STX I dunno tho lol

Yes and no.
KeSPA did not allow its players to play in GOM tournaments, but could not stop GOM from hosting BW events.
You can argue that GOM could have leveraged amateur and retired players (like SOSPA) and even foreign players to do an alternate league. Which is basically what they are doing right now.

probably yes. a couple kespa teams declined to participate in one seasons for one reason or another and then the rest followed.
A few teams didn't participate in season 3 because there were supposedly too many matches for players to prepare for. Then, only 5 teams wanted to participate in season 4, so GOM decided not to host it. It's because they wanted to focus on the existing leagues at that time (officially at least).
But at that time Blizzard wanted to charge KeSPA/OGN a licensing fee for hosting SC events, and GOM was Blizzard's partner, so it may have been in retaliation. Who knows.

Well that's just childish, GOM did what they had to do in order to survive as a company. In 2010 nothing else was popular so if they couldn't do BW they had no other choice.

He made an assumption that GOM tried to kill BW which is unfounded. That would be my guess as to why he was banned even though I feel a warning would've been more appropriate.
I just hope there will be some english commentary. I don't really understand everything since I never played BW for real. I have watched it alot though through Youtube (Klazart, Moletrap, Cholera, Rise etc.) and GOM (Tasteless).

Sea regularly streams and plays in the sonic league tournaments. He's actually been quite dominant until just recently.
I would rather see another Yellow vs. Boxer as a showmatch to hype the actual tournament than Yellow taking a spot from these active players. Even if he's King of Special events, I think he's going to get owned pretty bad. STORM ZERG FIGHTING!

it's no speculation. Kespa teams withdrew because Kespa told them to do so, which was the product of OGN and MBC beeing unhappy with gom competition. That's a wildly established pov, i don't know what more proof you need?

agree here, that ban is not fair imo. He could have cut the F word, but besides you can argue that point of view pretty reasonable. And yes, if you do focus solely on sc2 and make up a rivalry Starleague format (GSL), then you do hinder BW, as both products struggle for the same market share. However, i dont think people at Gom make those decisions judged by their feelings for the game. So Gom didnt hurt BW intentionally, but they ofc. didnt care either. Its capitalism guys.

Even though I'm pretty sure their studio audience will be impressive, I just hope they don't expect the foreign online viewers to be in the same numbers as SC2 tournaments. However, with the korean online viewers I think the numbers could be quite comparable.
Also, I'm worried that they invited YellOw who doesn't even play BW anymore, which makes it seem more like some kind of an all-star fun event, instead of a serious tournament with best players playing.
But anyways, I'm still quite excited about it and I hope this is just first out of many. 2014 is indeed starting strong for BW.

i'd prefer to think that SOSPA's recent success has made bw a viable project again in korea the pattern : afreeca > gom > ogn looks quite exciting
many pro gaming circuits always coexisted in korea for different games it is normal bw finds his way back to mainstream i think
i'd be surprised if the afreeca bw audience in korea wasn't happy at all about this

This makes me very happy. BW, despite a lot of effort to kill it off, has just endured and now people are getting back into it.
Kudos to GOM for this, hope it all turns out well and that they will produce more BW events in the future. And I also hope BW continues to live on, thrive and maybe even grow again.

There were several threads about quality and comparsions of the casters of BW, but I'd have to necro them. I remember when Tasteless said it was an awesome player for porn as well when he was co-casting with lilsusie. Awkward and funny as fuck, lilsusie couldn't believe he said that on livestream. And the times when a dead stream would put GOM Player on repeat. Good times!

It's not a PR stunt Skzilime... GOMTV has been bleeding money through SC2, they've already got everything established though (The studio, the equipement etc) and now with GSTL gone they even have more free air time, now imagine if they were able to run an individual BW league. It has a fanbase, KESPA is out of the picture, now even though the fanbase is smaller than it used to be, there's no competition left and on top of that individual leagues are very cheap to run.
GOMTV will NEVER broadcast a BW teamleague, investing in teams, organization and keeping everything running wouldn't be way to big of an investment for a 16 yr old game, but running a low cost individual just might turn a profit.
GOMTV is a business, BW might work out and that's why they are trying it out.
Keep in mind that GSTL basically had a live audience of 50 while the SSL group selection was packed. GOMTV was capable of examining those numbers and came to a conclusion that a game that is obviously more popular in Korea and has absolutely no competition might work out in a grassroots environment.
Also GOMTV would have to be really dumb to assume that BW fans would just switch to SC2 because they ran a BW tournament... Doesn't really make sense if you think about it, might draw attention to their channel, but everybody already knows SC2 and probably their channel they just don't bother watching because they DON'T CARE.
If you like SC2, you'll watch it, if you don't, you won't.

Really sad to see that a relatively good player like you is that blind towards efforts that could increase BWs following/viewership and put a bigger spotlight on the game again. SOSPA, as good as it is, is still really niche compared to what ppl remember BW for (Proleague, TaekBangLeeSsang etc.). Going as far as hating on a good thing (no matter the afterthoughts) is a huge letdown. Also wtf... how is this event backfiring helping BW at all? All it would do is "confirm" that BW is "dead" (even if it really isn't) to the people that think that way.

Good! I've been saying since SC2 launched that the two scenes should be connected!
Now Gom can get BW fans to watch BW, earn some goodwill from them for SC2 or whatever else they wanna do, and BW can tap into that big foreign SC2 market. If a few hundred SC2 fans watch BW and discover they like it, and a few hundred BW fans decide to give SC2 another chance, then we have more fans of both games, and everyone wins (even people who only like one).
It's really vital that we support this, and let GOM know we want to see more. This is a huge step forward for the BW scene.

I'm pretty sure that they can make running Classic profitable, they have all the infrastructure in place, they have a large audience (KR). So I don't think cross promotion is the only reason they got into this, I'm pretty sure that they are actually trying out how BW would do on their channel in 2014.

I mean that if there's no English cast, BW fans will watch the Korean stream over not watching it at all, so adding an English stream doesn't do much to bring hardcore BW fans (and obviously even casual Korean BW fans will watch Korean). The point of an English stream would be to appeal to SC2 fans for cross-promotion.

I actually agree. I think YellOw is a legendary player, one of the greatest of all time. I deeply respect his skill in the past, and how he was owning Terrans left and right, and sometimes even BoxeR, back when most maps were significantly imbalanced in favour of Terran in ZvT.
He was a great player, and one of my personal favourites. But now, he's out of practice, and I don't want to see him get embarassed. If he would come back for real and practice, I would love it, but he won't. So I'd rather not see him at all.

Yea. I saw this coming for a while now; it's a logical progression - viewers prefer SC1, and if you want more viewers, and more ad revenue, then feature SC1. It has an inherent entertainment value, that has staying power, which other games lack.
Great news. Keep producing Starcraft 1 content, GOMTV/partners. I will personally watch every GOMTV Starcraft 1 game. And I am sure overall viewership will be very high, and there will be strong demand for subsequent GOMTV seasons, especially once momentum starts to build after the first couple new seasons. Afterall, GOMTV seasons 1-3, seemed to be quite popular with viewers. But I don't watch any SC2. SC1 is the best game, and the most entertaining for viewers.
Also, please hire Tasteless and Superdanielman as casters (or just tasteless, would also be good - a mediocre co-caster would just detract from the entertainment value). They were the most entertaining professional SC1 English commentary duo. Don't hire Artosis to cast though; he is a boring caster, I do not enjoy listening to him, and he sucks the life out of Tasteless when they cast together. Tasteless+SDM = optimal casting duo. Or just Tasteless. Thanks.

I haven't seen any of Tastless' recent casts, but his casts for the GOMTV BW seasons were very entertaining, and I would expect more of the same if he were to cast BW again. It's mostly been weird. The peaks are muchhigher than they used to be, but the valleys are much, much, lower (tw: sadness). Generally, thanks in large part to the WCS system, its popularity has waned quite a bit. I think that it can come back a bit now that WCS is changed to be less retarded, but in a way, Blizzard was responsible for GOM losing viewers, and thus for GOM picking up BW again. Irony!

I agree. I think SC2's laser like focus on "professionalism" led to "boringness", and I hope GOM has learned from those mistakes as they go back to BW. I think the lack of KeSPA in BW will be helpful in that regard, as players will have free reign to let their personailities shine through (as well as a strong incentive. Gotta get dem stream views!)
I think getting new people invested in the BW stars early on will be critical. Even SC2 kids know Bisu, and Sea was on Liquid (and one of the first to retire to BW).

Getting good casters is also key. If we're trying to win over a demographic used to an obs mode that looks like this. it's vital we get a caster that can explain what the hell is going on, even if that means "dumbing down" relative to what BW fans find ideal.
I really do wanna see Tasteless cast BW, even though he's almost certainly well out of date. And if you wanna see a boring game sucking the life out of the commentators, SC2 is BW compared to this
for a small tourney R8 im guessing no.. but for a whole full season probably so i guess u cant blame gomtv its what they always do payperview live if im not mistaken think they need that to survive somewhat (but im no expert in this)

As for lost passions and drained life, I think it is a fair assumption by now that SC2 never really lit a fire in Nick the way BW did, and I understand him completely. I've criticized his casting in SC2 more than once, but he was really good in BW. Maybe this could even get him to go back and play some BW instead of Battletoads.
It still makes me giggle hysterically that despite everything that has been done, every attempt to put BW in the grave once and for all, it is still crushing SC2 in Korea in terms of popularity. That is my favorite fact in all of Esports.

The revival is here. We're in a new (Bronze?) age of BW, and the dark times are over. Even if we don't get back to 120,000 people in a crowd, we have two individual tournaments, a proleague, and the momentum for further growth.
What we have now is great, but the one concern I still have left is new talent. The current crop of guys will likely be around for a few years, but at some point I suspect they will develop other interests and/or leave the scene.
If we want to be watching BW ten years from now there will need to be enough interest, both from a gaming level and a sustainability level, to allow new amateur talent to rise.
If it gets big, talent will follow. I think the "BW to SC2 now back to BW" trend is going to dry up soon (though why Stork is still in SC2, god only knows), and there'll probably be a bit of a dicey period where there's no one coming back from SC2 anymore and there's no one new coming up, but it'll pass if we can survive it.
Edit: Unless KeSPA kills the GOM Classic again. Don't put it past them.

KeSPA cannot control games, only the teams and players affiliated to its organization.

They are television network man. Ratings is their life. Lol garner more than 10 times the ratings of other games. They'll do a show which talks of many different games within an hour segment but thats about it for non-lol games. Still if gom classic is very very successful, I'm sure they come back right in with a BW OSL. After all that tournaments name is a holy grail.

What The_Red_Viper said. This is an event tournament, which means that its #1 goal is to entertain the fans, not necessarily to determine the best Starcraft player in the world. Also, let us not forget that Yellow has won numerous golds in event tourneys and is considered the god of event tourneys.

I think being real is when there's a huge pool of players fighting for a place in the ro32 through prelims where they literally play up to 8 hours of games back to back to back. It picks out the cream of the crop and then those 32 who've proven they have the potential duke it out for their shot at a starleague championship. This is just an invitationals, fan service not very legit imo

I'm hoping that one day, GomTV will try out a big 64-player bracket fed with open qualifiers just like their GSL Open era back in 2010. Of course, this would be the most resource-intensive and probably wouldn't happen, but one can dream.
Funnily enough, this actually isn't the first time GomTV has broadcast BW alongside their SC2 stuff. Back in 2011, they broadcast a match of BW as an April Fools joke right before the GSL World Championship match between Mvp and Julyzerg. Two employees dressed up like the players and did a TvZ on Lost Temple, with Tastosis jokingly calling it a "low graphics mode" and pretending the impostors were the real players. Of course, the match was very short, finishing after a bunker rush and a worker pull iirc. The real SC2 match commenced shortly afterwards, but the whole thing was hilarious and well done. Too bad I can't find the vod since GomTV is being awfully slow porting over their old vods to the GomExp Youtube channel.
If I end up watching and seeing Tasteless casting this, it will be the final confirmation that I'm actually in coma and my brain is revisiting all good things that happened to it in the past before some horrible accident. Sounds awesome either way!

That's what I'm concerned with. Obviously a great caster, but well out of practice for SC1. And will he get excited over it or use time to petition to people that SC2 is great. I watch korean stream for SC1 anyway so I guess it doesn't matter.

Tastosis is the best foreign commentary duo imo. Artosis actually knows things about the game and provides great insight, whereas Tasteless has the smooth voice and color, energy commentary. Not as good as Korean commentators, for sure, but still the best. I would love to see them back.

It's not really an accent thing, to many, just a voice thing. If your voice isn't pleasant to listen to for much of your audience, regardless of your other chops you're not a good caster. I do agree that Moletrap doing BW is actually pretty damn solid.
Also, his Youtube content was fantastic which he never got enough credit for imo.

I think only Tasteless can truly give you an answer for that, but I'll say what I can.
I think everyone who got their work from SC2, Tasteless, Day9, Artosis, etc are almost uniformly grateful. It's a job that lets them travel, meet people, play with friends and generally act much more casually than any other job would let you. Even if it's not your favourite game, it's a pretty sweet deal. That said, they would similarly uniformly have preferred to be able to do it with BW, given how often they reminisce about it, talked about it on SOTG, compared SC2 to it... It seems like most of them never really got over their first love of Brood War ;p Which considering they played it voluntarily with hardly any social or monetary benefits for like 10 years, I can feel confident saying that.
For Tasteless specifically, I think he has the most fun when he's making jokes with Artosis and they're not analysing the game too seriously. I watched a fair number of their casts over the last few years, and sometimes they all but totally ignore the game happening and just make jokes, and those are actually the most enjoyable to for the viewer as well. It's different from when they casted Brood War for sure, when they wanted to share their insights about the game because they knew a lot of their audience understood the game well enough to want those special insights. They still made jokes in BW and the panda bear guy is one of the more infamous of tasteless' running gags, but I think they also cared a lot about the games themselves and who was advancing and the like. Even if they generally like SC2, I don't think it gives the same enduring feeling, and after so many years of watching it, maybe the wear shows on them a bit.
The cast you saw specifically might have just been a really off day for him, because normally he looks like he's having a pretty alright time hanging out with Artosis.

Thanks for the fast answer. In BW he was so passionate about the game. At one point in SC2 casts around 2012 and later i felt like he didnt care about BW no more and he embraced SC2 fully, but i guess thats not the case. BW really have something special about it. I was watching all pro BW from 2003 to 2012 last OSL. Played for 14 years, but the last OSL kinda of crushed me. Couldn't believe it was over, so i stopped playing and watchin for an year. That image of the korean commentator crying in the 5th set of Jangbi vs Zero on Neo Ground Zero - that was hard, way to hard for me to watch BW after that. Tasteless was grean in GOM Star Invitational and the GOM Classic 1,2,3 so i hope he makes a comback. Can you give me links to SOTG or meta episodes where they talk about BW history and comparsion to SC2? If you can of course. Sorry for straying off topic

GOMTV tried to kill ProLeague by blackmailing it out from prime time, because GSL couldn't compete with it. This is how this whole "illegal league" mess started. One of the main reasons why it became hard for OGN/MBC to find new sponsors (KeSPA's BW leagues were "tainted" and sponsors did not want to associate themselves with potentially illegal activity). They were also very co-operative as far as Blizzard's attempts to kill BW go. Short summary of what happened:

I wasn't aware until now, that there were any potential illegal activities (or that this was potentially a reason why OSL/MSL had trouble getting sponsors). I briefly looked at the linked article which contained a lot of things that were "said", but is it generally acknowledged that there is sufficient proof, for illegal activities, or no?
Regarding the non-participation in the Classics, at least for SKT, at one point players were only allowed to practice for one individual tournament- e.g. OSL/MSL or perhaps GOM Classics, and were required to use their remaining focus on practicing for Proleague success. This isn't really a valid reason. Individual Leagues are at least, if not more entertaining for viewers, compared to Proleague, and allowed the players to show their personal style. As far as I know, there was no compelling reason that Proleague should have been prioritized to that extent, over Individual Leagues. Bisu has stated in interview that one of the main issues with Pro BW, is that players were not given more freedom to practice/participate in individual leagues. Were additional reasons for non-participation provided?

Read it again, this time understanding the context of what I said. The whole debacle was about whether KeSPA is using BW within their legal rights. That's what the lawsuit was meant to determine.

Yes, I was aware of that specific legal/licencing issue. So this information is actually consistent with my previous understanding of the situation.
I had assumed that the statement meant GOM had blackmailed Kespa in terms of a criminal offence (regarding the timeslot). Blackmailing is often (but not necessarily) a crime, and looking at the linked summary of negotiations, it looks like the term could be appropriate at least to some extent. Although, in any case, I do not recall Kespa taking any legal action against GOM, as a result of the referenced negotiations.

It's uncertain whether any party's actions were illegal. KeSPA did not take legal actions because Blizzard already took the case to court, where this whole mess was supposed to be settled.
It's also not true, contrary to some people here have claimed, that KeSPA used BW without Blizzard's approval for a decade or so. Before Blizzard Korea (or whatever it's called) was established, Blizzard in Korea was represented by HanbitSoft, which had been a long time KeSPA member. The company, on Blizzard's behalf, allowed KeSPA to use BW (Blizzard's officials even attended several league finals, so the company certainly did not condemn what KeSPA was doing with BW). Afaik, KeSPA paid for this licensing, so this makes this whole "greedy KeSPA didn't want to pay Blizzard any royalties" not true. KeSPA actually proposed to pay for the licensing, but for Blizzard it was not about royalties, but rather about taking over the scene, so that they could ensure a smooth transition to SC2.
As for the IEG rights selling fiasco, KeSPA was selling rights to ProLeague, not BW (how would they even be in a position to prevent anyone from broadcasting BW is beyond me) - the same way UEFA is selling rights to broadcasting Champions League, and not football.
Yea, in light of all(more of) the facts, I don't know that I would specifically reference the concept of forgiveness just right now, either. But at the present point, anything that involves promoting/sponsoring the Pro BW scene is in and of itself, a good thing. In general companies are only going to do such things if it is viable from a business perspective to do so. Obviously GOM and some other companies (e.g. The new sponsor for SSL 9: Humanworks.com) have already decided it makes sense. So, perhaps, increasingly more reasons to sponsor, and more investments in the future. SC2 obviously is not, and cannot pull its weight, and in practical terms this is becoming a reality, rather than just an "apparency". The entities in power are increasingly coming to realize this. Broodwar still pulled very high relative and absolute viewership ratings in the most recent Proleague/OSL/MSL. And although some other games have since become quite popular with the viewing public, none have yet revealed the consistent staying power/entertainment value, over many years, that BW has demonstrated. Even after 10+ years of professional leagues, Pro BW was still essentially as interesting in 2012 as it ever was. And of course, the Sonic Leagues have been carrying on this legacy. Who knows what will happen with other games in the future, but with regards to BW: consistently high viewing interest has always been there; certainly there is something to be said for this, with regards to a business/Esports/advertising perspective.

Well, I feel like I have the passion for StarCraft, but I don't have the talent as a speaker to, perhaps, do justice to a league like GOMtv's. I think my talent is being able to write and communicate through that medium. I thought Jason and Tasteless were casting old vods iirc, mostly vods from the old Gom Classics.

The way I see it is that Artosis/Plott bros were smart enough to capitalize on the situation and jump the ship that is SC2 right before it sinks completely.
If BW truly stands on its two legs despite having to compete w/ the sequel and they come back right afterward and they come back for it? That just means that they are smart enough to come back.
Of course, I would want to see Karma at work because they could've spread the BW horizon if they were just candid about the state of SC2.
There is a saying that "The closer you are, the less you actually see." We know that we can't alter the past but we can change the future if Dan and Plott bros have a change of heart to revisit to BW, there is a huge chance that many foreigners will pick up the game. W/ enough foreign stronghold, it might just be enough to bring back WCG BW and DreamHack to further grow the community. The best scenerio would be that Birdie successfully releases his server to the public so that people can play the game w/o much hassle to just pop and play.
All in all, the community must function as one constituent to maximize the game's influence. It depends on SSL and GSL to succeed in order to garner more interests toward the game. Now its not the time to get historical but put aside our past differences into a coffin or instead it will the game we cherish the most inside.
It would be so weirdly wonderful if BW took over SC2 as the main game in Korea...I mean, it's still more popular in PC baangs, and tons of people came to Sonic's amateur starleague. GomTV Classic, Starleague and 2015 Proleague anyone?

I didnt care for day9 dailies back in BW. I didnt particularly care for Tastosis they were good but so what, I cared about BW and the players first and foremost. That seems to have changed with SC2 people are clinging on personalities and casters for some reason. I could care less if they come back to BW and certainly dont fault them for going where the money was and is at this time with SC2.
I hope this tourney is at least taken semi seriously though and not like a show match if they throw in to many old greats who are now washed up it will be a poor exhibition, so Im hoping the other invites are some of the best the current SOSPA scene has to offer.
I don't see why people think if the likes of Day and Tastosis went back to BW it would make today's gamer interested in it. I love the game personally, it's great. I don't think your average nerd will want to go and play with all its mechanical difficulty and sprites, no matter who attaches themselves do it.

If day would do a daily for BW i think a lot of people would try it out, even more so if he does funday monday and stuff liek that. Obviously a lot of people wouldn't stay, but better than nothing.
I think it's more a case of they HAD to move on from casting BW if they wanted to keep their jobs and stay in Korea. I think casting games is an awesome job to have in a foreign country, especially one as awesome as Korea, and to give that up just because the game changed to SC2 is laughable. They even stuck with it when the job turned to games like World of Tanks, even if they didn't like it they pushed through. And now that they have a chance to return to the game that brought them into this huge game commentating scene, I'm sure they'd be more than happy to spend time casting what might still be their favorite game. (Except maybe hearthstone for Artosis )

Now its not the time to get historical but put aside our past differences into a coffin or instead it will the game we cherish the most inside.
Whatever happens with the game, I love it too much and plan on sticking it to it the same way I always have. And I'm more then eager to get back to casting in the near future. Those who have been around through thick and thin are the ones I'm grateful for and hope they will never fade because I won't. But that being said, if any of the people who transitioned return I will most definitely welcome them. Everyone should be blessed with Brood War in their life.

Regarding the old casters, what could have one done with focus of KESPA proscene rapidly changing? I myself would have switched to casting whatever game necessary to keep food on the table. Remember all Korean casters switched to other games as well - their passion for Brood War is plenty obvious but they did what professionals are expected to do and nobody calls them out on it.
If this tournament indeed gives opportunity for Tastosis etc. to re-cast the Brood War, it should be pretty interesting guage of how they feel about the game after so much years.

this. I think you guys are being too hasty about 'I would only cast BW and nothing else' and not considering the reality of the situation. You need to look at it from an objective point of view. Do you think it would be feasible for anyone casting BW and relying on it for income to continue casting it even with everything switching to SCII such that the income they were relying on becomes non-existent? In other words, if there's no money involved in the scene and that was your only source of income, it would be difficult to survive on that. Can they cast BW on the side? well, yes of course but that's up to them(unless something in their contracts says otherwise(would be bizzare then lol)). As a caster, you have to be ready to move with the times and to the next game. That doesn't necessarily mean that you lost your passion for your previous game but if you want to be able to survive, it's a necessity imo.

could be, but i wouldn't speculate about that w/o reason. I imagine, Gom made a compromise between competitive and fan favorites. But besides from that, i can't think of a good reason too.

It'd be nice if tasteless casted this because no offense, it's been obvious he hasn't really liked starcraft 2 since about a month after it came out. I mean I used to love watching tasteless cast BW but in SC2 he's never really been as enthusiastic as he used to be and it kinda rubs off.

How is it unlikely? They have an English stream for everything they do afaik. Khaldor has no idea about BW so that only leaves Tasteless, Wolf and Artosis and only two of those were casters/progamers for that game. I'm fairly sure tastosis will cast this.

I believe it's February the 9th. Not sure about where to watch it but likely on GOM's twitch(or is it youtube) stream.
According to a between game ad, it looks like Gom Classic S4 won't have an English stream, it says "Selected caster will be recording the GOMTV Classic Season 4 VODs which Gom eXP will provide after each match"
I could be wrong though, might have something with a caster recruitment program or something because it does say "try out".

However from this I'm not sure if there will even be an official Korean-language stream that can be viewed internationally (looks it will be going out on GOM and YouTube but they've been geoblocking those for GSL).
If GOM picks me from the caster tryout thing, I'll ask them if they'll let me do a live english cast alongside the Korean stream. That would be more fun for me as well.

You could use bluestacks to watch it on your PC, it's basically a virtual android installation. Just link a google account (gmail, for example) and you can download the GOM EXP app. Have not watching anything on it yet but the App is starting fine on my side and seems to works great.
I didn't notice a start time and this event doesn't appear to be in the calender on the right. Am I missing something? Does anyone know the scheduled time?
