Have any other players said they are definitely going to military next year? Although I'm not sure exactly how that all works, if they've just been lucky to not get a draft notice yet or if players usually just decide on a time to go before a certain age or whatever. My assumption is that you will get a draft notice randomly between the ages of 28-30 but you can volunteer to go early? Hopefully players like Bisu and Zero will come back once their service is up though? I'm not sure how many players currently in military plan on coming back. Jeez I finally get back into pro BW and the scene seems like it's on thin ice because of this damn military service ![]()

"The same g damn brood war meta" That's ignorance in the first place, the meta have never changed so much and so fast like it did in the recent years. Also there's sc2 and the sc2 forum for you if you don't like sc1. Have fun

Late game tvz transitioned slowly from massing tanks [flash 2010], occasionally using B.C's [firebathero 2007 against savior] or pure sk [Nada way back when] to a mech transition, between 2010-2016. It took six years for a single compositional change to take place, and in a year or two it was largely figured out. Apart from that you have, heavier infantry use in the mid game, and the return of 1-1-1, also a build from almost ten years ago. On the zergs end you have: Continue to do 3 hatch muta into defiliers, saviors gameplan from 2006. Or two hatch muta into defilers, basically from 2007. Thats really not that much change, especially in comparison to the years prior to this. hell, we play the same map during this entire period, fighting spirit."The same g damn brood war meta" That's ignorance in the first place, the meta have never changed so much and so fast like it did in the recent years. Every other matchup has barely changed at all outside of zvt, and all the changes are relegated to efficiencies and counter plays based on efficiencies. Thats not real change, its rearrangement. Also there's sc2 and the sc2 forum for you if you don't like sc1. I love broodwar, have for 20 years. I recognize that the meta game is stale, the map making scene is stale, the player base is aging, and the scene teetering. Change must come or we will back to the SSL days, or worse. I mean, if you want to do the exact same meta for the next 10 years on fighting spirit, be my guest. But you will largely be doing it alone in the medium to near future. Have fun ![]() User was temp banned for this post.

I just checked the official SC forum and he's trolling there too with multiple accounts asking for balance patches and that kind of sc2 moba-tryhard development while insulting other forum members (calling them idiots) (apparently Blizzard mods sleep too) Also at the end of the second post he's clearli insulting me with the emojy after 2 BM threads full of profanities. The TL admins are sleeping or maybe he's too crafty for the TL admins to recognise him as a troll (which would be really sad) You guys should read the forum guidelines. EDIT3: ![]() If sending ppl to f**k themselves via emojy in a post full of hate and profanities is ok... good to know, I can adapt to the new environment but I remember TL being better then this.

The map making scene is ‘stale’ because it takes such an insane amount of knowledge to make great maps.Very few people can do it to that level. If we talk about the meta change for pvz moving to early expansion mapmakers needed to have the natural choke buildable and the correct pixels for P blocks to happen. Why noone plays Luna anymore. My point that meta changes can contribute to maps becoming harder to make and balance also can lead to many maps looking the same (FS clones).

The TvZ meta shift from whatever it was they did in 2008 to +1 5 rax to mech switch to 1-1-1 now back at SK was very entertaining to me. Also both the PvT (early shuttle busts) and ZvP (that 973 build) shift to a much more refined aggression where you don't open with a real all-in, but you're expecting to do a lot of damage early on, was nice to see emerge. Queens are used routinely. Total recall. Leta did lock down and nuke on HBR, ok, it didn't work, but that is not stale. You could say; that was just one game, but that is what makes it special. If everybody could make any combination work, the game go from stale to random. It is the constant failing in trying to evolve the meta that makes the succeeding so exciting.
