he did participate, but his team (334+vip) was knocked out 2:4 by the zhanhun+qinhe team in the RO8
the insane prizepool in 2v2 (compared to 1v1) is because the tournament was originally strictly a 2v2 competition, the 1v1 segment was only added later as more of an afterthought
prizepools are sponsored by China investment company Koudai Financing
vods are not available yet, will be added later (youku)
zhanhun is the big winner of the event, won 110k RMB or 17.2k USD for reaching first place 1v1 (10k RMB) and first place 2v2 (200k RMB, assuming even split)
for comparison, by.hero won about 16.9k USD for winning SSL11 in korea
Looking forward to the book. I think Jaedong probably had the best mental strenght of all players in his time. I remember him talking about how he never got disconcerted in the games against Flash despite being demolished in some of those finals in Flash' prime. He always went into the game thinking he was the worlds best, no matter what.
I remember it being a big deal the way he rebounded after being defeated twice by Fantasy in the 2009 proleague finals. just a couple of days later he went up against Fantasy again in the OSL semifinals. He looked bad before the game - tired, agitated, probably sleep deprived. He looked even worse after succumbing to the "Fantasy build" in the first game. But the way he came back in the next game on Outsider was just incredible. And the rest of the series. Talk about mental strenght.
It's these kinds of things i am looking forward to reading more about in his upcoming book. What about you people? What other points in jaedongs career would be interesting in learning about from his own point of view?
Both Bisu and EffOrt had some time ago began streaming on China's game streaming site Longzhu
In response to the huge and positive reception towards both streams Kongdoo has now reached an agreement with Longzhu for 7 more of their players to start streaming on Longzhu
Their debut Longzhu broadcasts will be on the 9th and 10th Oct
(on another forum a Longzhu "rep" also mentioned how Bisu has not been streaming on Longzhu for some time because of SSL+staying at Kongdoo office which lack the Longzhu streaming program assures all that Bisu will resume his stream on the 9th and 10th too)
he works in private sector now (quick search shows a company called halla climate control corp), has not streamed for years in short he has moved on in life
