By what method will you be taking donations? Probably Paypal, I haven't investigated the best methods to take donations. That's the biggest one around and most people will probably have a paypal already so it's probably the simplest to implement, but we'll see.

I'd be interested in being part of the closed beta.

Yes, you just need to add iCCup to the registry list and log in with your account, however the iCCup Launcher will not work since it's made for Windows. I can't launch bw, it says that power pc applications can't be run because they are too old.

So when can we expect the launch of the beta ?

I hope before Christmas, but I'm not making any promises. We should have some screenshots of the new launcher UI soon though (e.g. in a couple of weeks). I've been working on all the fancy statistics for the site.
Speaking of which: What user statistics would you like to see? Here's what I currently have/have planned. Skill rating over time, per-matchup rating over time, map win ratio over time, ratio of wins per duration of the game (e.g. how often you win before ten minutes, 10 - 20 minutes, 20 - 30 minutes, 30+ minutes), possible per map per matchup ratings (TvZ on Heartbreak Ridge, TvP on Heartbreak Ridge etc.). Map statistics will be separate, and will probably be fairly simple. If you have any other statistics you'd like to see, let me know in a post here

If it is not too much of a hassle, you could build a Player vs Player statistics, where you can fill up 2 text fields and query for games among them:

Very useful for bragging around!

Awesome. I have confidence that it will be an excellent server! Best of luck and I can't wait to play on it!
Will surely help contribute via donation when it opens it up (as little as it may be!)

Man it would've been better if you just did this project in secret and once you've completed it and are completely satisfied with it to announce it on teamliquid kinda like how teamliquid does things such as when the FIRST tsl was released, same for the late starcraft legacy league thing that Sziky won. They always kept it in secret then just surprises everyone and I like that so much better becuz I feel like they put maximum effort into it instead of ppl constnatly asking them on updates for when it will be released. I'm just worried that this project might be rushed and I don't want that. I'd rather wait till next year as long as the quality is good. Seems like everytime I read this thread there's always someone asking when it will be done or something along those lines.
And I know you needed to get everyone's opinion first (the poll in your OP) is the reason why u couldn't do this project in secret..but..I dont know.. I guess I'm just kinda ranting in this post. I just don't want it to be rushed that's all.
