Being the unorthodox person that I am, I enjoy watching the computer play itself, sort of like watching TV. Games like the Sims and Madden football are great because I don't have to do a thing.
It's pretty sweet, but now I'm wondering, are there any other AI-only maps set up like this? Or easy ways to set up AI-only battles? Would appreciate any leads on this. Thanks.
As far as ah know the simplest way to make the AI play vs each other is to host a top vs bottom multiplayer game, where you lift your cc like when observing a melee game, except here you might want to make an scv first and take your units and cc to your allies base. For 2-player maps this might be a bit troublesome.
If you're interested in getting a quick glimpse of the default Blizzard AI, we've recorded "blank" AI vs AI replays to test out different modified AI scripts for many years. Basically whatever modded script is loaded with the game will play out accordingly in the replay. Meaning the default Blizzard one if nothing is modded. This BWAI replay pak has hundreds of hours of said "blank" replays. This would be the easiest method to view the default AI if that's what you're interested in.
