Hello,
I'm very aware that there are a million threads about portforwarding on TL but not for this router.
I also know about the Portforward site and my router is listed there, however, i still can't get it to work.
I followed the guide and i know i have filled everything in properly until the point where you have to put in you device. Since i don't know a whole lot about this i just tried a ton of adresses that i could. You would think that it should work then but still no go. If know what adress i should fill in it should work.
Notes: using windows 7, have not blocked the game with firewall. Please be clear with your instructions(What i have to fill in and WHERE).
|
Please show us a screenshot of your router port forwarding page.

You can find your IP address by opening up the command prompt (Start > windows search "cmd") and typing 'ipconfig' (without the quotes). Look for IPv4 address

Read the guide on portforward, there you can see that there a few pages to go through. I don't know what to show now.
This might be what you are looking for though.

There were 2 IPv4 adresses, none of them made it work.

I think that is because you are under a router and a modem, you have to port forward on both the router and modem, you'll have to go into your browser and figure out the IP address of both your router and modem and port forward on the one that hasn't been forwarded yet, at least thats what happened to me, I was behind a router + modem as well. It sounds like you have the same issue, not 100% positive on that but it's worth a shot.

Found that adress but it unfortunately didn't work. This is really complicated >:.

Do you play on iCCup? If so, find me online and i can try to help: iCCup.xboi209

xboi209 is master port forwarder, you should seriously take him up on that offer.

Modems just modulate/demodulate the signal, they don't possess any TCP/IP networking capabilities unless they are a modem+router 2in1, but if that's the case you don't need a secondary router connected since the modem is one. The TG789vn is a 2in1 by the looks of it (DSL modem + router) so there is no secondary device that needs to be port forwarded.

I also have a thomson router and I cant create games on iccup..

If you have it on dutch (standard config)
192.168.2.254 should be thompson default ip

Your problem here is you're forwarding ports onto the wrong IP address. 78.xxx.xxx.xxx is a public IP address (probably yours - don't know how you got it but you shouldn't give this kind of information on the internet), at this place should be a private (local) one. Probably something like 192.168.x.x . Give us a screenshot or a dump of your ipconfig /all.

I have a very similar router and this is how I found it:
So you don't know the IP address of your computer to enter as the device?
You can find your IP address by opening up the command prompt (Start > windows search "cmd") and typing 'ipconfig' (without the quotes). Look for IPv4 address
But instead of IPv4 adress, input on the adress bar of your browser the Default Gateway number given.

Unfortunately that did not do it either.
It's official, port forwarding is a bitch.

Unfortunately that did not do it either. Hmmm. When you put the numbers, Example: 22.0.0.150 (or whatever your number is) on the address bar of your browser what does it do or happens or nothing happens?

It leads to the same router page as another adress(don't know what they are called), where you can change settings such as ports.

Bumping this thread, getting real desperate now T_T.

Well we asked you to give us a screenshot of your ipconfig (start -> type cmd -> type ipconfig) and you didn't so how could we help you ? Ppl talk about port forwarding like it's some black magic but ofc it won't work if you try to input your public address or the address of your gateway ...

Ok, first looks like you are using both wired and wi-fi at the same time. To keep things simple you should probably start by shutting wi-fi on your comp. Then you have to give us screenshots of :
- The "Game or application " page (the one which you created) - The "Device" page

try putting it 6112-6119 on both tcp and udp, try to turn off firewall on your antivirus did you put a static ip in your windows? if you haven't, the local ip that you're using for port forwarding will change from time to time and fuck it up.
is wireless enabled and ethernet disabled? as someone suggested, try just one of them, preferably ethernet.
wtf I don't see the ip address on any of the router pages, is it on some other page? get a screen shot of that as well.

Good. The port part looks ok (but as suggested you could extend it to 6112-6119 just to make sure). What is still prolly wrong tho is the "device" part. We need a screen of the "assign a game or application to a local network device"

You don't see the adress because i put the adress for my router there.

can u edit this: Game or application page, the one that i made: http://puu.sh/2nV5h trigger protocol = protocol (so top one is TCP and bottom one is UDP) trigger port = 6112 (this one should not harm u anything at all, only do good)
what are the names of the devices u can choose in the dropdown menu of "Device" in the "assign a game or application to a local network device" page.
did u confirm that u are connecting to starcraft at port 6112? (log into iccup for example, go cmd, type "netstat -n", search for the remote adress ip with ":6112" at the end, it could be theoretically that 6112 is blocked by different program, so bw will have 6113 or so.)
|
Anyone got any idea why would my Ports randomly close? I have my ports open and it works for 1 hour, then suddenly it stops working. I need to reset the router, get the settings back agian, and then it works... for maybe 30 minutes.
Can a router close ports itself or is there something im missing? (Firewall is zonealarm and bw/icc is allowed).

I looked the netstat thing up and i did find an adress with 6112 in the end, under state it says: TIME_WAIT and im guessing that is not supposed to happen.
I changed it now but it still didn't work, i took a screenshot so you can check if i did it the right way:

The names of the other devices are other routers close by in my appartment building and my wii. There is also 1 i'm not 100% sure of what it is but i think it is my macbook, it's called SUME2007 for anyone who might recognize it.

You should just install TeamViewer and let someone try to fix it.
For static local ip, go to start, control panel, if it's in view by category - choose "view network status and tasks", change adapter settings, there should be a wireless network connection and local area connection there. You can disable wireless by right clicking on it and disable, enable local area connection if it's not enabled. Right click LAN (local area connection), properties, click on the *text* of "Internet protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" so that whole row is selected. Click properties. "Click on Use the following IP address:" so it's selected. Under IP address put 192.168.0.x (where x is from 2 to 255) - this is your local static ip address that you enter in the router when you portforward (router needs to know what's the network address of the computer so it can forward to the right place). Default gateway should fill on it's own when you click (255.255.255.0), and in default gateway put 192.168.0.1 (that's the IP address of the router, you also use this one to access the router via the browser). For DNS try to leave it on automatically if it lets you, otherwise just leave it blank. Turn on validate settings upon exit. OK, OK. Right click LAN, status, Details... It should say IPv4 Adress 192.168.0.x (where x is from before). You can also check with netstat, but it should say the same. If you're using wireless, it's done pretty much the same way.
If the address isn't static, but automatically obtained, it will change from time to time, so if you use one on the router page, and then it changes, you'll need to update the portforward address all the time when it happens. I don't know when it changes, but it's not thaaaat often. Probably when the router restarts or resets.

Hmm well that made windows search to fix a problem that occured as soon as i save the settings and afterwards my internet dissapeared. I don't know what changes caused it though. Windows say that: DHCP is not enabled for "wireless network connection".
I'll see what i can do with teamspeak.

i checked the new picture but now u are missing half of it. UDP needs to trigger UDP and TCP needs to trigger TCP. thats why u still need 2 rules. also, please reduce port range in both rules to 6112-6112 and "translate to..." to 6112
what is your complete set up of routers? like, what things do u have between your pc and the internet connection in the building (because u said u live in apartment building, could be that u are connecting to a 2nd router for the whole floor or something like that.)
so there is no device with a name which could be your computer? i guess u tried to test all devices already...

Everyone in the appartment building has their own private router so that can't be the problem.
Oh and the name keeps changing because i have to create a new "game or application" everytime i want to change something about the ports.

You might have a double NAT conflict, if you can figure out how to put your modem in bridge mode and have your router do all of the PPPoE configuration rather than the modem.
I had this issue back in like 2005 and that's how i fixed it.
