I dont get it.. What I wonder is why someone would go through all the work of making a mod instead of just playing the original. Graphics and pathing. Pathing is still better in SC2, although this will heavily alter the gameplay as well. I have no intention of going back . I truly dislike how easy it is in SC2BW to drop mines as vultures though. That's something that transferred horribly (vultures in general). The pathing was changed to be similar to BW except a little less retarded. The way units spread and such is still the same, but dragoons won't go walking out randomly anymore. Another change is that units no longer always spawn at the same spot next to buildings, it depends on the rally instead. Pathing is absolutely nothing like BW. Only bug diff from sc2 is clumping/collision size I feel. I guess they do walk slightly more in line though.

Probably not gonna play myself, but I might tune in to the cast if it's not at a terrible time!
Yes, I agree that full BW settings are more ideal, and add more strategic depth to the game. However, there were a significant number of people in the general SC2BW thread that said they were totally unprepared to deal with full BW mode, so I struck a compromise as the "default" settings.
Players are allowed to use whatever settings they want provided they agree; and BW settings are highly encouraged.

I would love to play in this, I am top masters in SC2 and max rank of C+ / B- in BW, I am really good at this mod too, think I could show some good games.

1 Question
Doesn't this belong in the SC2 tournaments?

It's pretty hard to get the originall BW set up, so SC2BW works well as an entry point to new fans who might otherwise go "fuck this" when trying to set up their routers (my own router is fucked, so I can't open ports T_T)
Also, most off ICCUP apparently lives in Northwest buttfuckistan, so unplayable lag is more common than not
I'd be a bigger fan of the mod, though, if it kept the techniques from Brood War, but changed the arbitrary and nonsensical ways to get them to happen in BW. Muta stacking is fine and all, but having to have a building/overlord/whatever in the control group adds nothing to the game but confusion and a trip to liquipedia >
It's always been a bit too slavish of a remake for me. I'd prefer a mod that changed SC2 to be more like BW, then a simple port. That would be interesting (I've always wondering if sticking the SC2 units into the BW mechanics would make the game more fun to watch), and might even help lead to small changes in SC2 proper to make it BWier. HotS buffs the high-skill units and bit and nerfs the a-move units (which is a good change!), but it could've been a lot better if the pressure was kept up.

Yeah, BW macro mechanics with automine and MBS is completely ludicrous. The are no APM sinks (chrono boost/mule/larva injects) in BW because BW doesn't need things like that normally. If you play BW in SC2 mechanics, it's even easier to macro than in plain old SC2. Macroing as Zerg in SC2BW on SC2 settings is literally 4D5D6D done.

There is no automine.
Hopefully most players will "man up" and use BW settings anyway.

Make sure to give the information necessary in the tournament thread if you have not already, so we may put you on the player list.

Many maps have been added. You may find them by searching SC2BW under Custom Games. They will be used for the tournament. MavercK will continue to improve the mod.

It's a great work done by MavericK - but personally I'll stick with the REAL stuff anyway. ^^
