Could have done it earlier rather than waiting for the finals to enforce their copyright infringement law .

My entire ire with how Blizzard handled the KesPA lawsuit/SC2 transition was how blatant their change in conduct was, once they decided to establish a professional SC2 scene in Korea. This is especially apt with the licensing. I dunno how much Blizz pays its lawyers, but its right to sue on the basis of copyright should have been exercised long ago, and should have been challenged successfully on the basis of the principle of estoppel. They had YEARS to file a claim. They KNEW about the pro-scene. The fact that they acted only when the commercial interest peaked shows their blatant disregard of their own rights. In other words, they sat on their rights, and only acted (extremely quickly, I might add) when they felt that they wanted to get in on the pie. And now this? After Browder and Co. go on about co-existence? To be sure, Sonic had a hand in this fiasco as well, since he probably knew about the new licensing issues, but again, why now? Why the timing before the finals? Why at the point where the Korean SC2 scene is stagnating and BW is starting to pick up again (albeit underground)? Sigh. Extremely disappointed at the pattern of behavior of Blizzard. It shows, once again, how little they understand the Korean proscene, and how much they underestimate the power of corporate "goodwill" in a fragile industry such as this.

Who knows, they might release BW-HD if they see how fucked they will get, or at least make Void a game worthy of the name Starcraft... but I don't see that happening soon, too much money at stake. Now that I think about it if TL hadn't have hyped SC2 that much maybe... *sigh*
