A new comer to the face of an old game has a very hard time figuring these things out on their own. After all a lot of the simple things like adding friends and joining games are things we learned so long ago we forget that even we had to learn how to do them as well. And you don't have to be a noob to feel the cold shoulder of the afk wall.
COMANDS Add friend /f a (Name) EX: /f a Boxer

Joining and Creating Games Click on the join button to select the game you want to join. You will notice that the names of the games are written by the host. There are tabs to see the genre of game. The main genres will almost always be -Melee -Top vs Bottom -Use map settings -one on one "Games will be considered ladder"
Also a simple note, when a game has red bars, you will not be able to join because of latency.
To create a game click on the create button and arrange the tabs to fit your needs to how you want the game to look. -Pick Game type -Game name -Browse "to select map" *If your using a wifi connection and your ports are not forwarded, people can not join your game. (Look of port fowarding on liquidpedia)
*Side Notes At the heart of every multiplayer experince is the human element. Making friends may seem very hard at first, but try to first better yourself in the game and hopefully people will be attracted to you. Fate? maybe
Latency Trick aka Lat Trick Somtimes you will notice that both you and your friend can't join each others game. Well there are two things you can do. You can either portforward your router or do a simple lat trick.
Lat Trick #1 This is the most common way to be able to join each other's games. First find a game on the join game listing, preferablly 3v3s or use map setting games because there will be many slots open. Second you and your friend both have to be sitting in the game lobby for just a split second at the same time. Third leave the game and now you should hurry up and make a game! Lat Trick #2 This one is a bit more less bad mannered to your fellow gamers. First your friend must make a game Second you will try joining the game, however it will say too high of latency Third you will then make a game and tell your friend to leave his game and then join yours. "It actually works"!

so people with no antihack can't join your games.
|
// use ingame (before the game starts to select opponents) /rl 2000 = do not allow people under 2k points to join the game /rl D+ = same /rl D+ C = only allow people to join the game between 2k and 5k points /rl 2000 5000 = same
/join ladder 2x2 = join the channel
alt+n = enters the selected account on the chat /w enj + tab = enters usernames in the channel which starts with enj. you can tab more to switch between them.
/kick /ban as channel operator as usual
hope that helps some of you ^^
edit: /clearstats YES = resets the stats of your account /transfer newaccount = transfer your stats to the account newaccount
clancommands as friendcommands /c l = clanlist /c m = msg to all clan member /dnd = not getting any massages (retype /dnd again to remove it) /away "eating lunch" = gives user the feedback that you are away (retype to remove) /motw = shows the actual map of the weeks which gives +30% ladderpoints in this week
/time = to get the random server time = most unuseful command on this server ...
for more commands type "/help" to see more commands

also open ports 6112 if you can't create and want games. portforward.com

Played 4 games total on iCCup so far. Nedless to say I'm 0-4 in stats with 4 pretty brutal losses. I try to face D- players but higher players keep joining. Is there a command to like, not allow players OVER 1000 points join a game?
Also, what maps are acceptable for iCCup and where do I find them when I create a game? (I tried downloading map pack from iCCup website but it didn't work. I have a few of the maps that I got from joining other ppls games)

Maps you download from other people go into folder /download/ inside StarCraft/Maps/.

I love how you always use the short form but then you use /f remove instead of /f r
also, /w and /m are the same, and /f o shows all the online friends, while /f l shows you the whole friendlist (/f o is especially better when you have 50 (or close to 50) friends on your FL, which is also the maximum btw).

I joined not that long ago, and I'm really grateful for these tips
Now I must overcome the anxiety/fear-of-being-completely-destroyed, and actually launch a game X_X

is there a way to use APM Live and antihack?
|
Remember to add in /dnd. (do not disturb, makes you immune to PM spams) Very useful to have, especially if your opponent is BM and is bitter about losing a match.
|
I believe /help command shows a list with most of the commands.
|
Just remember: losing your first 100 games is perfectly normal and you shouldn't feel bad about it. Celebrate every game that's an exception!

I've been playing ICCup for years and some of these I've never even known. Thanks!

/dnd is a terrible option for that use, as it blocks all the incoming messages, and not just of that one.. hence /ignore (or /squelsh) and then the username of the person you want to ignore works way better. I believe it also ignores their non /w messages in chat channels. and even ingame iirc

Protoss always cheeses on 2p maps in TvP, notably: destination

I am a masters zerg in sc2 but for some reason I got killed by a 1 base d- terran when I had 3 bases. TT I think my macro is kinda ok but where can I find strategy good strategy guides in english? I think it is fun to see the roots of the game I spend som much time and thought on. Also there were only koreans in the chats.
