Former CJ Entus player Movie has moved to Team 8.
According to the KeSPA website (accessed May 7th), it has been posted by the association that Movie has indeed changed teams.
Drafted in 2007 by CJ Entus, Movie, along with Effort and Skyhigh, rose through the CJ B-Team to become one of the key players for them in Proleague. Individually, his most prominent accomplishment was making it to the final of the EVER 2009 OSL where he lost to Flash 3-1.
Movie requested a transfer after showing a poor performance in last seasons Proleague, with a record of 4 wins and 5 losses.

I guess his salary is low enough...

|
i don't understand that. can somebody explain please?
just because he wasn't showing the best performance nobody leaves a team? is this some korean-proud-thing?
|
|
Good luck movie, maybe you can help turn team 8 around!

Thanks for the update GTR.
I hope this works out for Movie.
|
Hmm... he might make a good addition to the team. I'll be interested to see how it works out for him =)

He was the only protoss who was trashing zergs in that era when he reached osl finals.Good luck Movie in your next journey.

Best of luck to him in Team 8

Well, they definitely needed a protoss. This could end up great for both parties.

Team 8 is a big question mark to me. Is their problem a lack of practice partners, or is it bad morale from lack of a sponsor, or is the coach just bad? T8 has a huge amount of talent and team spirit, but it seems blocked somehow. It's amazing that not one of them could break into the Ro16. I like Movie a lot, but I wonder whether this transfer is going to do anything do fix T8's problems, or Movie's problems.
Still, this transfer helps balance the teams a little bit. I'll cheer for T8 and Movie and I hope they win the next proleague over KT or SKT, or get silver against ACE =)

good to know. movie is a solid protoss and capable of beating better players aswell

I think this transfer will benefit Movie more than it will the team. He'd been unhappy at CJ for some time. Now that he's on Team 8 he'll at least get more playing time, especially since Sea and Killer are slumping hard. He's also buddies with Tyson so he already has friends in the team.
As for Team 8... their coaching staff is very much lacking. Although he picks the line-ups, Coach Ju really is more of a manager than coach, which leaves only 1 effective coach to oversee 11 progamers.

I disagree, only JD. Everyone likes to hype up Sea on TL 'cos he did some guest appearance thing a few years back but the truth is he is one of the most underwhelming players with a terrible record.

Despite the horrendous last season he had, Sea still has a 58.18% career winrate and at least 55% in all match-ups.

On another note, do you know if Movie's salary is significantly lower than Hiya's was? They seem to be comparably strong players, but I assume Hiya must have had a higher salary or else why wouldn't T8 have picked him up?

Sea has always been very reliable in proleague. Baby is obviously extremely talented. Killer was just starting to look strong before Oz disbanded. Jaehoon and Tyson were just starting to look strong when MBC disbanded, and Jaehoon had always been a "practice bonjwa." Honestly, before last season started, T8 with Jaedong looked like a top competitor on paper.

OT: I hope this helps Movie get out of his slump, he's a talented player that can go big. Team 8 still doesn't have a sponsor though .

I hope this helps Team8. And hope that will get Movie out of his slump

I'm not sure how much Movie was making at CJ was it was very likely less than that, although not significantly. Back in November, Hiya didn't get picked up by Team 8 because his Kespa ranking was not high enough. As for why Team 8 are picking up Movie instead of Hiya now... probably a variety of reasons. Hiya's been away from the scene for awhile and maybe he has no desire to join Team 8 while Movie very likely is willing to accept a lower salary and doesn't lack practice, unlike Hiya.

Uh... what? He specifically requested for a transfer to t8? Why? Could be a potentially good transfer if he regains his form, but I'm not sure about it.

Team 8 really needs more players and bring in new sponsors.

Welcome to the team Movie! glad to have you!
Still remember that game vs Sea though -_-.

|
Fuck yeah! I sent him a message on facebook telling him that I would love it if he joined T8.
Please for gods sake let these guys play brood war. He could mean so much for this team since I feel that he is a really strong and smart protoss player.

i guess it works out both ways. T8 needed a toss and movie needed a fresh start.
hope he does well there....

Hopefully this changes the fortune of T8 and Movie. I will wait patiently to see what happens.

Maybe in individual leagues. He is (was) the Team League Bonjwa after all...

seems good to T8 hope Movie keep fighting!

You're kidding, right? On MBC Sea was beastly in team leagues. You could argue that his individual record is sub-par, but the rest is just... no.
|
Movie fighting!!!!
Thanks GTR for the news.

I thought Movie already left CJ a few months ago? Or did he just ask to be transfered and it was only finalized now? Maybe that is the case, or my memory is playing tricks on me.
Nonetheless, BW speaking, seems a good fit for T8.
|
I think this is pretty good for everyone. I don't know if anyone noted this but CJ is a fairly internally competitive team. CJ has a lot of fairly good players that could be thrown out on any given night, so once you fall out of the loop, you don't play much. Him going to T8 guarantees him play time in probably every match, and the ability to really get some recognition, because who doesn't want more females flocking to them after games. Perhaps it will give T8 a jumpstart towards not sucking and getting a sponsor.
|
Gonna TAKE Team 8 TO THE MOVIES!. Rawr Movie, i hope to see you kick butt, in BW, please. Just a little bit more
|
gonna be weird seeing movie without cj on :o
|
good news is good! T8 needed a more solid protoss ftw
|
|
team 8 officially my fav team of all time
|
Jin Young Hwa fighting! Even mroe reason tos upport T8, my favorite toss player, now that Reach retired, is on it yay <3 T8 Fighting!
|
guess movie could see the writing on the wall respect his playing time... still, team 8 might not be around much longer unless someone buys it (which is not a given IMHO, even if kespa is switching to SC2)

I didn't expect this. Then again, there's no way I can.
Why was movie unhappy(?) at CJ? Anyway, good luck to movie and its great to see him move to team 8.
Maybe team 8 will become like Plus now?

:O... does team 8 actually have a decent protoss now??? :D
|
im guessing he joined t8 since the protoss spot in cj has some tough competition (horang2 snow)
|
I hope he's good at SC2 or this might be too late to matter.
|
Lol. Is it me or did he look different in the past couple years than before?
|
GL Iron Reaver. Your attempt at hallunicated Arbiter Recall v Flash on HBR was a great finals showing in EVER. Never a big fan but the audacity to try it deserves recognition.

*sigh* if he didn't do that, he could have walked the royal road. That one single win could cripple Flash's mindset. But then again, we wouldn't get Flash is unimpressed meme thread.

He'll get played a lot more often I guess.
This could be good for T8.. or just bad for Movie.
|
new blood! can't be a bad thing, and they NEED a new practice partner
|
Good luck to Movie, hopefully he'll do well in T8!
|
wow.. so this is how it is -_-

I think they got nice balance between their races, I hope they all get benefits from this. ESPECIALLY JD! <3<3<3
|
if they are doing the big sc2 switch why do they trade players? Im sure that team8 will become quite dead afterwards and they will shift to higher end teams, imo he shoulda just made the transfer or retired

I don't like this decision of Movie. Maybe he's trying to dodge SC2 practice? If that's the case he has my full support!

this is great for T8 finally a good protoss

Yes! T8 need someone who can close out series
