Well, some of you might know things about brood war, little things that not everyone knows, i will give you an example.

Mutalisks. Did you know that Mutalisks have a tongue?, and its tongue is a Gecko?, Try watching the preview in a game of a mutalisk, and keep looking at it for seconds, the mutalisk will flip out his tongue, and guess what, its a gecko. Very funny.

Reavers and Mines, The explosion of their atack are exactly the same image, blizzard only changed the mine explosion color to blue and thats what the explosion of a scarab looks like.

Esnare and Plague. Did you know that the Esnare and Plague not only are the same effect, and a change of the color. But they are also Just an effect of various Marines dying?
If you watch really carefully in a slow mode and watch the queen cast the Esnare or the Defiler cast the Plague, you will see that the formed effect, are just some marines dying in another color.

I dont remember any other now, but as soon as i do, i will post them. I know quite a few, post yours if you got one.

i also never figured out why the sound effect of laying a mine and defilers's consume are the same. how hard was it to just make a new one for one of them?

thats actually a good point, its the same sound, and so different things!...

Anyway, another thing, not all of you know.

Zealot, Its the only small unit that can resist a Yamato Gun. yep thats right, do yamato gun to a zealot and you wont kill it...

I argued, because it seemed stupid to me, but he explained me aboust some "sprites", which I couldn't understand. Is is true? Someone tested?

10 valks is not enough
maybe like 50 will cause problems in a standard 1v1 game (or even 2v2)

I think the sprite limit is 1024. So 1024 things would have to fire at the same time (minus say 200-300 - depending on the number of dododads on a map)

each valk has 8rockets (sprites)..

A few strange things I've found through experimentation:

EMP shockwave wipes out mana on comsat stations.

Irradiated drone can be morphed into an irradiated building, same for defensive matrix etc.

Ensnared workers mine at the same rate.

If you manage to slide a siege tank beneath a landing building and siege it, it explodes.

If you manage to burrow units beneath a landing building, they die.

You can hallucinate cocoons and eggs. You can mind control larvae.

I don't think hover//air units are effected at all by ensnare.

did u know that casting a nuke on a battle cruiser will not kill it unlike a carrier or a devour/guardian?

i think 8 valkyries will shoot okay
everytime these problem happen, is only when i have tons of valkyries and plus wraiths etc from enemy

-Matrixed drone does not have matrix when in building, but it can have irradiate.
-Mines activate if there is larva (not sure about egg), so if vultures harass the zerg mineral line it is dangerous.

Yes you can MC larva and also you can hallucinate it if you want...

-Yamato Gun does 260 dmg aprox.
-You can Recall interceptors to anywhere on the map, if you have carrier in one corner, and recall interceptors to the other corner, they will fly all the way trough the map until reaching the carrier.
-If you statis field an interceptor and kill de carrier, the statis field will dissapear and the interceptor will die.

*Hard to do Glitches*

1.- Archon/Dark archon with statis field forever. and be able to atack. (discovered by me i did a news about this glitch at qpclan.org alooong time ago)
All you have to do is morph 2 ht or 2 dt and when they are about to complete the morph, statis field them, when the time is over they will actually finish with the statis field gear.
You can atack and be atacked like any normal unit, its just an image bug.

2.- Select a drone and build a hatchery with him, When he is about to morph, cast with a queen, "sparn broodlings" .
note: the thing, is to cast it on the drone while its a unit, and while the little thing is flying to get the drone and become 2 broodlings the drone is now a building..
what happens? Well, the building is literally destroyed will all effect and 2 broodlings will appear.

3.- same as 2.- but with while morhping to archon/dark archon

4.-if you cast lockdown on a unit and while the missle is going to lock the unit, you cast statis field on it, you will actually get to see a lockdown/statis field unit, which is not possible in any other way.

I discovered you can also do Micro to a sunken colony.... try this:
get dropship and tank, upload it.
then drop it and let it atack (cooldown is 0) then upload again.
the tentacle of the sunken will miss....

It is, just watch Chojja vs Reach game one. The corsairs (and sometimes the mutalisks) get ensnared plenty of times.

No you can't mc a larva. We're talking about hatchery larva right? I just tested it again and it doesn't work, but yes hallucination works. I'm using 1.13 for my test.

Thoose are flying units, he was talking about hoovering units, like SCV, Probe and Drone.
But that theory doesnt hold since Archons gets effected, and they hoover.

If you used an ensared drone to build something, the building's morphing animation will also be ensared

Fun to do:

Take two drones and an Arbiter. Have one make gas. Stasis just as the drone climbs up. Have second drone make gas. Wait for first drone to unfreeze!

It'll make the "pissed off" noise over and over, you can't give it commands, and you can't tell it to stop! Approximately 3 noises a second, and 3 minimap blips a second! Try it with 10 Drones!

Also, if you do it right, a Scourge against a Speedupped Shuttle, the Scourge will hit, you will see green explosion, but shuttle will take no damage and scourge will not die. You will also hear scourge death noise.

Here is another one i just figured out,

Infested terran, is the only ground unit that can atack while being under a Disruption Web.
Did you know you can atack to ground with infested terran? it will explode anywhere you want..

ok, here is a useful thing i discovered several months ago.
when watching replay sometimes you want to know the state of the object - i mean is it moving with attack command or just moving, or is it just stopped or hold position....
all of these images are behind the replay control window (pause, play etc)

ok, just
- pause
- select the unit/building
- move the screen to the right till the right corner of the map
- while keeping the mouse to the right edge of the screen (when it's => like) and a little above the replay control window, just right click the mouse
- the selected unit's control window will flash a moment above the replay control window.

Alt+C and Ctrl+C are even easier ways to do this. Or, if you have the building hotkeyed, just press the hotkey twice.

the screen centers on the start location, which in melee = town hall. that's why people who make observer maps, should put the start locations of observers near the start locations of the players - so that observers can see if the players cloned the miners well (of course it is often possible when you are quick, but sometimes there is a small lag at the beginning of the game)

It is, just watch Chojja vs Reach game one. The corsairs (and sometimes the mutalisks) get ensnared plenty of times.


Thoose are flying units, he was talking about hoovering units, like SCV, Probe and Drone.
But that theory doesnt hold since Archons gets effected, and they hoover.

All units are affected by ensnare

sometimes if i play fastest and i tell a drone to make an extractor fast, it fucks up and looks like its humping the gas and wont move away

I have one but maybe its well known. When watching a replay, especially for 2v2 replays, if you press SHIFT + TAB you switch the colors on the mini map to be just 2 colors, one for each team. And do it again and the colors of the units themselves actually switch.

yeah I knew that from TMA, very useful feature too :D

DId you know when you fire a vulture gernate as a ling running toward you, the gernade miss the ling cuz the ling runs fast, but ling still takes damage T_T
And yomato gun never miss no matter how far a unit runs away from the BC after the BC has yomatogun targeted on it. the only way to avoid a yomato gun while its been targeted is to 1.load into dropship, 2. die 3, stasis field. 4 recall?(not sure, someone test)

It is possible to recall spider mines, if they are being layed during the recall
If you statis an irradiated unit it will be able to inflict dmg to the untis nearby

If you're watching a replay and you want to know if he's researched something (say Ventral Sacs), click an Overlord and right click many times on the unit portrait. The replay menu disappears and the Overloard's menu appears for a brief second, then it reverts back to normal. It works better on slower replay speeds and it only works for some units / buildings.

This only works globally if you happen to spawn in the same slot while watching the replay as the player in the game. So, if one player appears light green on the minimap, you will be able to check his hotkeys and right-click on all his units' and structures' command card portraits to view his tech level.

This is typical of many RTS games. It's just more obvious with the Vulture grenade because it travels at a slow speed. Every attack in Starcraft except for Lurker spines is a sure-hit (with the miniscule chance of a ranged miss), meaning they cannot be laterally dodged. You will notice the same thing with Interceptor pulse cannons, Devourer spores, and Wraith missiles, all of which do not track.

500 damage at ground zero, 250 at the next splash ring, and 125 at the farthest ring. Or, 2/3 of the max life of the affected target, 1/3 at the next splash ring, and 1/6 at the farthest ring. The game uses a per-unit calculation and chooses whichever is greater.

U can cloak all zerg buildings with exception from sunkens, spores, extractor and hatcherys morph too lair.
Most here know they trick to cloak an ling with an arbiter, do it with a drone ( mc it) and u can make it.
Try an cloacked nydus in an pz v zz, units just appeared from nothing :D

one cant load critters in a shuttle (OMG MY "CRITTER DROP" CANT BE DONE T_T)
in single player critters explode when clicked many times
computer players kill every critter they see(not sure)
