The epic rivalry of this year was Flash vs his wrist and the best rookies after Effort are crazy hydra and snow, which by no means are the new Jaedong or Bisu. There really isn't a great influx of many new players, Flash JD and Bisu can still play to their 30s and be the best.

And it begins. It'll be a slow conversion, probably won't even take full effect until the 2nd expansion is out if I had to guess. Alas, progress none the less. I'm excited for it.

Finally, some much needed competition to the GSL for SC2 in Korea, I'm pretty sure that the people who'll profit the most from this are the eSports fans. While it can be hard for the GSL to stay on-par with the production level of the Proleague, I'm confident that they wont let their baby die after 2ish years.
If it really happens, I wish both GSL and SC2 ProLeague GLHF, and that they can co-exist, and one wont kill the other!

Ugh...I dont know man...it might be fine.
But something about this line of thought irks me....why shouldn't the current SC2 scene be sufficient. Certainly the bw teams wouldn't be particularly happy about this (remember the uproar from the players back when they had to field 2v2 teams?)

Wooo so now KeSPA is finally considering some transition measures instead of flat out denying out SC2. Good.
I think it can be realistically introduced in SPL. In a Bo7, they can get set 2 or 3 to be played as a SC2 match. I'm pretty sure we won't see the "traditional" SCBW stars playing in this introductory phase, but rather, the unknown B-teamers (secretly trained in SC2 hidden from the KeSPA's watchful eye) will get a shot at the stage. I like it as set 2 or 3 because it's not the deciding set in a bo7 (set 4 is, at the earliest, the deciding set) and it'll give that fresh twist in the middle. It'll be very interesting - in all aspects, like graphics, mechanics, strategies, etc. - to see the two games being played back-to-back in the same night, both at professional levels. I also believe that with some good promotion and marketing strategy, both BW and SC2 fans will find this acceptable, at the least.
Hardware upgrades are in order. It's about time.

I wonder if this could cause some problems to Broodwar. SC2 attracting more sponsors after this thus leaving Broodwar a bit behind? Yes, Broodwar is still a lot more popular in Korea than SC2, but still i can see it being a small concern. Which is unlikely right now though.

We could've had SPL SC2 edition by now if it wasn't for the whole fiasco last year.

It's not dying, it's evolving!

People cheering for news like these only mean one thing to my eyes:
It seems like people are thinking: We need Korea to switch in order for scene to grow bigger.
Not saying that its a good/bad thing, just my 2 cents.

Well this could be great for SC2 and BW actually, SC2 could help keep BW alive when you think about it if they both had a pro league, I'm glad this is happening to be honest, I just worry for BW's sake, hopefully everything will work out, and also... I wouldn't be so fast to say Jaedong, Bisu and Flash wont play SC2... Jaedong , Bisu, Jangbi and Fantasy are all going to Blizzcon so.... they could very well be playing some SC2 for fun, or watching, or possibly have a BW event at Blizzcon but what are the odds of that? :-P gl hf sc2 and bw both~

I see one big problem with what is going on, in this thread, there are many many many SC2 posters who are all very happy for the arrival of SC2 in proleague, however, none of them actually consider that this is going to make the foreign SC2 scene as insignificant compared to Korea as BW has been. Once this major league is in place, basically all the SC2 foreigners will become amateurs again.
