The whole thing looks like a way to force a transition to sc2, which is going to be a really "take it or leave it" kind of offer, cause say some sponsors might not find SC2 attractive and just force the teams to disband. The situation is really complicated and I have no idea how this is going to work out, but again it all seems like a way to force the BW competition to SC2, doesn't matter if Flash and Bisu want to switch to SC2 now or in 5 years if they get payed 250k yearly to do it now and play it on TV as they used to do with BW. Thank you! This is what I've been saying ^^

as long as they don't try to kill BW it's fine with me

Unexpected turn of events IMO o_o

Kespa consists of the sponsors of the seven (soon to be eight) professional BW teams. They run Proleague and OSL. If they do expand to SC2, they're going to use the same teams in proleague, just with SC2 divisions. So if for example IM wants to play in proleague, they're going to have to take a sponsorship from a kespa team (they'll probably want to anyway, as they'll make more money). Aren't there more than eight SC2 teams in Korea? If so that could create some problems, possibly the smaller teams that didn't get sponsored would be broken up and spread around the eight teams that do get picked up.

Don't know if I should feel good or bad about this.

If Blizzard is involved, it's a mechanism designed for a switch over.

What? How is the rivalry gone,if anything the rivalry has increased, you're convinced that SC2 will kill BW however that is not going to be the case, they will be running side by side now.

Lets see what happens here's what I see happening: the BW teams start recruiting SC2 players (kinda like they all have special force teams) we'll probably see some jump ship from the current teams that play in GOM's leagues, because the BW teams will be able to offer decent salaries. If this goes through, I see a complete takeover of at least the team aspect of SC2 by kespa. If OSL starts a SC2 league, GSL is either going to have to drastically change its format or die. Def agree with this, GSL needs to change their format and get rid of code A and just have one league if they want to compete with OGN if they ever decide to start a league. This is pretty big news but nothing really set in stone so it doesn't matter IMO. Brood War/sc2 are fine on their own atm. I don't understand how everyone goes nuts about players switching to sc2, it will happen fans quit watching, which isn't the case at all.

gah why do all good things have to come to an end. why can't good things last forever.

this is the hugest news to the e-sports this year.

If Kespa gets this right .. then we will have SC2 .. but what will happen if SC3 comes out?

Guys just calm down, they say they are thinking about it and talking with blizzard. From what I remember Gom still has the exclusive rights for sc2 in korea for one more year. Just chill and wait what will happen, who knows maybe Blizz/Gom won't allow kespa to do shit with sc2.

They wont be, the only way Blizzard will side with any deal is if there is a progressive transition to SC2, they wont be running side by side for more than 2 seasons I don't think.

Well, if that happens, then Kespa will be even more hated because for every progamer who switches to SC2, another one will retire from progaming altogether.
And I wouldn't put it past Kespa to do this.

Omgomgomgomgomgomg.
Sick sauce.

From what I've heard about KESPA, I'm not too excited about this for the growth of esports around the world.

Wow...didn't see this one coming. I'm not trying to draw flame from BW fans...but as a SC2 fan this is super exciting :D
