Names like these are earned through domination of the opponent or having a unique style of play. However, nicknames such as these can only be given by the community. So, I began to wonder - what other nicknames have the community donned certain players? What's the reasoning behind some of these names?
So, the purpose of this thread is the following: (1) List out the nicknames you know for progamers (foreign or korean - present or ancient) (2) If there are any nicknames you don't understand, ask about them! I'm sure there's a great story behind it and someone can fill you in. (3) If you want, try to see how many nicknames you can name without outside assistance and post your scores here.

horang2 gets referred to by a lot of nicknames kinda. "4rth dimension toss" "Chibomi" "Dam-water-toss". Fourth dimension toss may be most common from what I see of tlers; other two are his twitter interview.

and hydra should be forever known as Pirate Zerg now, taking that throne from the dong.

Though I don't think is official in anyway, I never forgot about it. It was first stated in a game of the gomtv intel-averatec classic with Hwasin, as commentated by Tasteless and SuperDanielMan. Tasteless misheard the name "Bluestorm" thinking SDM said that Hwasin's nick name was Blowstorm. As far as I am concerned, he is Blowstorm for life.

I'd do that but then some would argue who is S class and who is A class. I think alphabetical would suffice.

Yeah, he got that nickname from doing a throat cutting ceremony before the game in an ace match vs KT. He probably had some gay protoss cheese planned for flash but Stats came out and stomped him.

Here's some more recent nicknames of Savior from the Korean community: Ma Match Fix (마조작) - From the match-fixing scandal. Ma Trash (마레기) - People calling him trash. Marthas (마서스) - Ma + Arthas from WC3. Ma Criminal (마범죄) - From when in the Incruit OSL dressed like a criminal (Hat covering his face, etc)... Then it turned out to be real. They photoshopped his face with the documentary and stuff) Ma Deny, Ma Innocent(마부인, 마결백) - Comes from when savior denied his crimes and claimed that he was innocent during the match-fixing scandal. Macean's Eleven, Danny Macean (마션스 일레븐, 데니 마션) - Comes from comparing Savior and the 11 people related to the match-fixing with the movie Ocean's Eleven. Ma Delete (마삭제) - Comes from when his name along with Luxury's name was deleted from the winner's names in the ABCMart MSL Maciopath (마시오패스) - Comes from when a user made a comparsion chart between Savior's action patterns and the patterns of a sociopath, and how they were similar.
And there's a lot more, but most of them are negative. Koreans really hate Savior it seems.
I think Flash is also nicknamed "The Last Generation". I think I recall seeing people bear a black cloth with the nickname in red during the GSL or some other broadcast.

I think they stopped calling him that after a while because he plays nothing like kingdom.
Forgot nal_ra is also the flowertoss because he likes cannons.

Those Chinese nicknames crack me up. I can guess the origin of most of them, but it would be great if you added an explanation for those who don't watch/understand Chinese commentary as often.

I don't know that he was ever called that, but you're thinking of Junwi. The nickname for his playstyle was "kyung lak massage" which is a play on his name and, if I'm not mistaken, an actual style of massage.

Tour Bus Driver - Choi Yungsung. oov Now, I am not sure how many people know the origin of this nickname. It all starts from progamers, obviously. Progamers, in private, use profane words. Swearing words, describing certain strategies and sorts. Among them was the word "gang gan", meaning rape. The progamers use the word "gang gan", just as we use the word 'rape' to describe one-sided matches. However, you have to understand that in Korea, the use of such word is generally much more frowned upon. You know, culture difference. So, the word 'gang gan' transformed into a word 'gwan gang' which sounds similar(though really not), but has a totally different meaning. 'gwan gang' means tourism. And the one who leads people into "tourism" by a "tourist bus" would be named the "bus driver". This idea came right out after the match between oov and goodfriend in nostalgia, where oov led goodfriend into "tourism" with 200 wraiths, when goodfriend was defending with goliath and turrets. There came to be many photoshopped images, where oov is driving a bus, and goodfriend as one of the passengers. (We all have seen that picture once or twice).

Modesty is the zerg technician because his zvz is so much better than his other matchups, so he specializes in beating zergs, in fact in china he has the name zerg betrayer since he only beats zergs.
