Obviously it's tough to throw endless money at Julyzerg for being the top player right now because he's still relatively new to the leaderboard, but players such as oov and nada have both proven themselves time and time again over the last couple years where most of boxer's accomplishments have been insignificant. Yeah man, second in starleague and getting into the MBC Starleague is insignifcant.
Give me a fucking break, the man is entitled to a slump every now and then, he qualified for what? 9 consecutive starleagues? No one has come close to that (which is one reason I always defend mumyung - he qualified again, and again, and again).

Yellow EASY?! ADGYFY*I#
They are like 28-25 or something, yeah, REAL fucking easy.
Boxer didn't qualify for the last OSL, that's one.
Boxer qualified into every fucking OSL for like what? 2++ Years straight?
Boxer has won the KPGA, boxer has gotten third, boxer has won a couple of KOK (the MBC variety), boxer has won 2 WCGs, Boxer has won 2 OGN starleagues, BACK TO BACK, boxer has been in 5 finals, boxer came so incredibly fucking close to beating oov - had he scouted oov's hidden CC it would likely have been game - his wraiths turned away one inch out of vision.
Boxer has placed 3rd multiple times in OGN, top 8 even more.
NO ONE has been as consistant as him, EVER.
Go to away. Umm....Boxer may deserve all the $$ due to all the things he has accomplished, but Boxer DID have the easiest trip to the Ever OSL finals. Arguing against that is only rediculous. Out of all 8 players, boxer did faced 2 of the players that he would have a best shot against. Seriously, how can anyone argue that Boxer did not have the easiest OSL trip than his competitors? Would anyone put Sync and Yellow over as being better than JulyZerg, Xellos, Nada, Reach, or Iloveoov? 28-25 is hard? JTRNSG*Y%. That's more than 50% winning odds. If Boxer was up against JulyZerg, Xellos, Nada, Reach, or Iloveoov, he would have had anywhere between less to alot less than 50% odds of winning. Then Oov had the easiest way to the championship - he's way more than 50% winning vs Nada and Reach!

So Boxer is the Anna Kournikova of Starcraft??? -_-;;; Yuck~
I don't mind Boxer being the highest paid player though. Even though he has not been a top player recently, his name still commands respect in the national and international Starcraft community. He deserves it anyway (even though inside I think Yellow probably deserves it more =P)

Second in a starleague and simply qualifying for another league isn't that great when you look at the accomplishments of, say, Nada and oov. For your average progamer, doing both of those would be awesome but when you're the highest paid player in the game, shouldn't you expect more results?
Give me a fucking break, the man is entitled to a slump every now and then, he qualified for what? 9 consecutive starleagues? No one has come close to that (which is one reason I always defend mumyung - he qualified again, and again, and again).
You are entitled to slumps, but Boxer's slump has lasted (give or take) more than two years now. Just when you think he's completely washed up, he'll come out and win a game or two, but then he'll go right back to his regular pattern of being heavily challenged by low tier pros.
When I critcize him, I am not knocking his accomplishments or his past. He is, indeed, the most successful and dominant BW player of all time. However he continually proves to me that he really doesn't have what it takes anymore. He does have small periods of great play followed by a bunch of crap that makes me wonder if he has lost hope.
If you look at, for instance, professional baseball. Albert Pujols is not being paid $15 million a year to hit .250 with 10 home runs and 50 rbis. If he ever showed those kind of numbers, the team would attempt to get rid of his contract as quickly as possible. Professional atheletes/entertainers are only worth what their abilities show that they're worth. Which is why I said, I hope SKT1 is happy paying Boxer just to see his pretty face on tv because with the way he's playing right now, I doubt he'll ever be successful in the mainstream again.

hahahah, mega company like SKT1 does not rely on bw progamers to make $$$$, If boxer get a contract for that much, there is something in him that SKT1 needs!
The main purpose is of course promote the brand of SKT1 through the popularity of boxer.

Then Oov had the easiest way to the championship - he's way more than 50% winning vs Nada and Reach!
That's a very flawed way of reasoning. Oov has 50% or better odds vs just about everyone these days, whereas Boxer does not. Simply the reason being oov is more dominant than boxer these days. Did oov have it easier? Yes, but not because he got an easy draw. I don't think you can get a harder one than Nada and Reach.

Sorry but I'm with Moltke on this one. I don't feel that Boxer does not deserve this because of his fundamental character as a person but his accomplishments have been spiraling down since 2002. You could say the same for NaDa in a way at least up until recently but NaDa is fairly consistent while Boxer is not.
Let's compare Boxer with NaDa and oov.
OSL Top 3 Finishes 1st 2nd 3rd Boxer 2 3 1 NaDa 2 0 0 oov 1 0 1
Now, Boxer is fairly impressive with his standings in regard to top 3 finishes but most of these occurred between Early 2001 and Early 2003.
Here is a timeline now. 0 means didn't make it into the top 4 and a A means absent.
Again, accomplished but only in the early to middle parts.
Then there is MBC.
Here is accomplishments by top 3.
1st 2nd 3rd Boxer 1 0 1 NaDa 3 3 1 oov 3 0 0
So obviously here Boxer is not accomplished much at all.
Unfortunately there isn't a detailed record readily available of players in the first 3 KPGA's (I don't remember either) so I can only go off of when it became MSL with absences.
Yes, Boxer also won WCG but that was 2001 and 2002. Again, three to four years ago.
And no I don't think Boxer's path to the finals of EVER was easy but I also do not think it was utterly hard either. For certain, Yellow is not an easy opponent but when you stack his performance against Boxer over the years then it becomes apparent that Boxer beating Yellow will not be a trying task. Sync hard? Boxer 2-0ed him back during KTF. I've never thought of Sync being a "nemesis" of Boxer's but maybe I'm wrong.
So in retrospect, congratulations to Boxer and I hope he enjoys his new salary!

The one before Boxer's 2nd place should be an A, since he didn't qualify in Gilette OSL. I think.
