Thoughts on advancing to the Ro16?
-I didn’t assume I would win just because the opponent was an amateur. But now the Ro16 is about to truly begin, I’ll work even harder.
You made DTs both games.
-DT openings can counter the opponent’s opening, so I used it. The opponent could be cheesing too, so in order to eliminate variables, I made DTs both games.
How has it been recently?
-It’s been pretty relaxed. The vacation was kind of short, and I didn’t really rest, I just focused on practicing. It’s not time for play yet. I’ve saddened a lot of people in the previous few leagues, so I’ve been practicing hard even when I went home.
You have WCG and STX Cup to play right now.
-I’ve been practicing for STX Cup, it’s not the time to rest yet. After all, we’re the ones hosting the games, so I’ve been spending a lot of time practicing.
Are you ambitious for being the Korean representative?
-I really want to try. It’s a big stage, hard to play, but this might be better for my performance. It’s better to play with a lot of good players, practice more, and experiences like this will help for next season.
The next opponent is Kwanro.
-I’m not worried. If I prepare well there should be no problem.

Thoughts on advancing to the Ro16?
-I’ve been working really hard for this WCG, and I think it’s helping. In the Ro16 I’ll be meeting my teammate Jaedong. I don’t know what the result will be, but it will definitely be an interesting game.
Your opponent is Jaedong.
-It should be fun. Because we’re teammates, no matter who wins, it’s our team advancing, so everyone can relax and play.
You have yet to play Jaedong in an official game, how’s your record in practice?
-The difference in our abilities is paper thin [laugh] Jaedong’s only higher than me by one sheet of paper [laugh]
Have you thought about how to interact with fans?
-Rather than that, it might be better if neither Jaedong nor I practice for the Ro16 games. Then the games will be more interesting.
What have you been doing in the off-season?
-Focusing on individual leagues.
There’s still an important game in the OSL, your opponent is Flash.
-Eye of the Storm isn’t a difficult map, I’m confident. I think I have a chance. Flash recently won SPL, and he has momentum, but I’m not too worried.
Did you learn about the experiences of being a Korean representative from Jaedong?
-I heard he was a bit nervous wearing the team uniform at the airport. I have a sense of responsibility for being the Korean representative, and I really want to go to LA, so I’m ambitious. No matter the league I’m always ambitious. Meeting Jaedong in the Ro16 means we can’t go to LA together, but if one of us can get there it’d be good.
What else have you been doing?
-Practicing. I played a few games of football, mainly with friends, and with other teams [T/N: Apparently Hwaseung had a game with Samsung. The score was 13-0 Hwaseung’s favor, but officially it got reported as 2-1 or something xD Relevant video here: http://tvpot.daum.net/clip/ClipView.do?clipid=25930116] It’s fun to play with other teams.
