Well i really like making polls and i've always wanted to know what the ppl think about the the best players of all time. (sorry if a make any mistakes in english, im a SPANISH USER~) if u dont find your personal favorite zerg,terran,protoss just dont vote -_-;
ZERG
Being a zerg player is really hard to pick one this gamers, when i started playing back in 2002 [NC]...YellOw was my hero!. He was so creative and his rivalry with boxer was so exiting to watch. But then came JulyZerg and OMG his mutalisk control was AMAZING, his games against iloveoov were as exiting as yellow vs boxer. Then we have sAviOr[gm] the most dominant zerg of all time, when he was playing i was like "oh its savior he is obviously going to win" not a sigle player was able to stand a chance against him till bisu came to the scene. So we needed a new zerg, and n.Die_JaeDong came, the most skilled zerg in the history of starcraft, he was (and kind of still) unbeatable, he was strong in all MU, his ZVP, ZVT and his amazing ZVZ.

When i think of terran 4 players come to my mind cause dominance they have had in the starcraft history. The Emperor BoxeR was just too good for anyone in 2002-2003, thanks to him starcraft is what it is now, then [RED]NaDa came with his amazing performance he used to have winning everything untill IloveoOv the boxerJeja started his long dominance with his amazing Macro.After oov I thought we were never going to see a terran better that them, but in 2008 a kid who used the nickname of By.Flash started to play really really good and now in 2010 i think there is no player who has never reached that kind of skill.

Back in 2003-2005 being a protoss progamers was really tough. But there were always some protoss who stood up and said "i dont give a shit about u terran/zerg user ill win this OSL/MSL". A lots of names came to my mind, like Garimto, Kingdom, Grrrr, Anytime but here is no doubt that the most important ones were [Oops]Reach and the Old boy Dreamer Nal_rA. Reach taking away the chance of Boxer to have the golden mouse in that EPIC OSL final in 2002. And Nal_rA denying NaDa having his 4º MSL title in a row in 2003. And ofcourse we cant forget this two guys: Bisu[Shield] and Stork[gm] who in 2008-2009 in the dragon ERA destroyed everyone who were in their path.

Savior's gonna get a lot less votes than he would have pre-scandal haha. There was a similar poll in fomos with the exact same options for favorite Z and savior was winning then, though that was before the scandal.
Thinking of sAviOr still makes me tear up a bit. Nal_rA is my favorite player of all time, and always will be. I followed the scene for a bit, but lost interest. My interest was reawakened by Savior, and I have been following the pro scene since.

I voted Nada for Terran as the "best" Terran but now that I think of it I should have voted for Iloveoov. I didn't vote for Savior and Bisu as the best due to their sheer performance but rather because they were far more influential to the game than the rest of the options. Nada is by far the most historically consistent Terran and the most consistent player of all time but when it comes to influence upon the game Iloveoov eclipses Nada.

At least rA put down the foundations for some of the fundamental ways that Protoss looked at the game and was influential in that way. Yellow on the other hand...
The more I think about it the more of not voting Iloveoov as the best Terran seems heretical. He's arguably the most important player ever.

The only reason Yellow is revered is because he was one of the first original players, and the main rival of Boxer. If we really really think about it, when the Zerg race was led by Yellow we just kinda flopped around like fish out of water.

i don't think it's quite as clear-cut as you say. oov shifted the balance of bw from a micro to macro game, but nada showed everyone the superiority of excellent mechanics. both contributed a ton to the game, just in different ways.
Have to point out the OP is wrong in a single instance. It says Nal_rA never won an MSL, that is untrue. He won the 2003 Stout MSL. Anyway for me it is Favorite Zerg: Jaedong Best Zerg: Jaedong Favorite Terran: Fantasy (voted Nada) Best Terran: Nada Favorite Protoss: Stork Best Protoss: Bisu GOAT: Nada (my favorite player of all time is Stork though) Savior has a lot more people claiming him as their favorite zerg over best zerg (28 vs 14 at the time I wrote this), really expected it to be the other way around after the match fixing (ie people don't like him anymore but still recognize his greatness of play).

I guess for me I look at it as so because Iloveoov preceded Savior. The reforms that Savior brought to Zerg probably were inspired by what Iloveoov did for Terran. I believe Iloveoov to have been the greatest player not only because of what influences he brought to Terran but because of how his innovations changed how Zerg and Protoss players viewed the game as well.

Reach has only 42 votes thats really imba.. the votes will be a bit biased anyway but it reflects some of the stuff.. oov should be higher than flash but terrans like flash too much,.

Flash was quite low in the terran polls, while Jaedong was high in the zerg ones... From my part JD's killer stare is what won my heart.

If he wasn't on a 6 losses streak in ace match it would have been different. It's just showing that Flash is not invincible as we could have thought 3 months ago. And how the player look is very important as well. Even if Nal_ra is one of the best proleague ace player ever (great 9-0 streak in 2005), he is very popular for his look.
Imagine Flash with Nal_ra's face, and Reach's body. He would get like 95% of the votes :D

I'll second that. Jaedong's killer stare is an awsome thing to behold, almost like a natural distaster. You just can't stop it, you just let it do it's thing and hope you live to tell the tale! ^_^
The last poll is disturbing... I mean, Boxer is not winning it. Besides, I really believe Bisu has more fans than Jaedong, imo the top 3 foreign fan favorites are Boxer/savior/Bisu or at least that was the case for the last 3 or so years
I find Ma Jae-Yoon, my heart's desire. People talking about Jaedong's death stare must have forgotten the souvereign far-gazing MJY mask when he was being invincible again. If only one more time I could watch him, on three bases Hive with an opposing army advancing to somewhere he knew it would. Then, suddenly, there would be a couple of lings and a swarm, and then the entire map would be domineered by the swarm and gruesome rape ensue. Lee Jaedong of course is far more succesful in terms of prizes achievements, so he won my vote for best zerg.
Terran: Lim Yo-Hwan / Lee Yoon-Yeol. Protoss: Kang-Min / Kim Taek-Yoon.
NaDa is still the best player in history of SC. He's the true, first macro player, has the most trophies under his belt, and still kicking ass after 9 years in his career. Take that, Boxer.
Favorite player - well, this is easy. Whoever I liked more as a fan. Combination of a lot of things. Best player - this is a lot more difficult as it can encompass so many things: achievements/titles, pure skill level, innovations, impact on the game's development, etc. In the end, I tried to sum those things up and ultimately decide who I'd bet on if two players played each other at their prime level. It's true that the players' level keep rising overall, but I didn't want to discount the players' raw skill for that reason.
Zerg - This one is easy. Jaedong is my favorite all time, and also the best player. sAvior is my least my favorite for being a dirty fucker, but I have to admit he is the second best after Jaedong. Much love to YellOw though.
Terran - Much more difficult. Best of all time though, I have to say Flash. I know that NaDa has accumulated the most titles, but in my eyes, Flash is the most complete and skilled player that Terran has ever seen. I am probably a little biased but I also consider oov to be a "better player" than NaDa at their primes.
Protoss - Favorites were hard to order because it gets really close after Stork. I love all my Protoss players Best of all time is really close between Stork and Bisu. I'd actually put them as a tie but it is true that Bisu has achieved more than Stork, at least in terms of first-place titles. I ended up putting Stork up there, a lot of it due to bias. Bisu deserves it just as much though if not more.
My choices, following the order of polls: Zero/Jaedong MVP/Nada Free/REACH REACH Being a huge Stars fanboy, obviously I'd have to pick their top players of each race for my favorites. My other picks were a little bit more objective. Jaedong and Nada are icons of their race now. Nada beat out Boxer mostly because Nada has more titles and has stayed consistent longer than Boxer. And Reach... well I hate most modern Protoss players (except for the ones on the Stars, and those old guys on ACE) so I had to pick him.
In that last poll I don't really care for anyone except Jaedong and Reach... and Reach won because I'm a sucker for Mantoss jokes. Surprised that there aren't that many Boxer votes in that last poll, too.
Zerg: MJY/MJY Terran: Flash/Flash Protoss: Stork/Stork(Bisu is close, but unlike many others, I don't think all of Stork's silver medals can be ignored) Best Ever: Flash
If I might add, the results of the Zerg and "Choose One" polls are pretty much fucked up because of the match fixing scandal. Most former sAviOr fans completely jumped over to the Jaedong bandwagon.
I still adore sAviOr >.< I cant help it... I wish he would be given a chance to redeem himself, he went on his longest winning streak in early 2009 and I feel if he really felt the spark again he could compete, but that will never happen now. T_T

I deliberately averted my eyes from the results before voting. My favorite always turned out to be the LAST choice, while my "best of all time" always agrees with the first choice. I'm not shocked.
It's interesting that Jaedong is winning the "favorite zerg" vote (inexplicably...), while Flash is a very distant third in "favorite terran."

He was an extraordinary good player, regardless of his other activities.
I only voted for oov Despite his relatively poor micro, he was farther ahead of the competition than any others. He had amazing game sense ( remember oov vs jju ace match in PL finals? ) and really impacted the strategic trends in pro-sc.

jaedong jaedong for zerg boxer nada for terran ugh.. i like anytime more than all these tosses. stork stork savior lololol even though he rigged matches i love watching him play. his first osl run was so epic. not to mention, his MSL rivalry with nal_ra

Stork had 3 OSL finals. One 1st place, two 2nd places bisu dosnt have any
