Sorry guys, but I'm having big problems with editing. So I'll be posting the rest of the photos over the weekend in part two. For now I hope you can enjoy the photoshoots from Bisu, Midas, FlaSh, and Violet. Some of them are pretty crazily edited, but I was just messing around.
Violet and Bisu both got cakes from Teamliquid. I also got video messages from Violet, Bisu, Sea, Jaedong (Who was adorably grumpy.) Midas, and FlaSh. There are also quite a lot of outtakes
Almost everyone spoke some English though. We have some really cute TL shout-outs this time.
Thanks to OpticalShot for the translations;
Translations here! (these weren't too hard, and it's basically what you expect) *edit: and thanks NeverGG for the pics+vids!

seriously though thanks for the pics, but why so much Bisu? Not enough FlaSh imo. The dunkin ring cakes really got me though.
EDIT: Just noticed all of the spoiler videos, those are really funny, and JaeDong does look mad grumpy. Flash looks really happy, and violet was just straight hilarious. Bisu was pretty good too, what did they all say?
Sooo, do they have any idea who we are? I wouldn't have thought they'd care about some western site, even if it was the biggest. What's with Bisu being so shy? And Jaedong doesn't look like he appreciates having words put in his mouth lol.

It's good PR to pretend to give two shits about some random demographic that supports you. If you were a celebrity, and a reporter was like, oh hey there's a 12 person Tunisian fanclub that supports you, what words do you have to say to these wonderful folks? You wouldn't be like, "yeah! Eat this, eat that! I hate Tunisia! IDGAF!" You're much better off going like, oh yeah hey, cool stuff man! I love all my fans!

I'm just saying, even if they don't, it's a good idea to say "I love __________!" when prompted to do so. This has nothing to do with whether or not they're aware of a site full of people who support them. Hell if I started a random group where I was the only member and I said that I love Starcraft, go to South Korea and interview (insert any progamer), and told them that my group loves Starcraft and has a lot of (progamer) fans, then that progamer would probably say something like "oh, thank you for your continued support. I will do my best to show good games to you guys. (group name) gogo!" if I asked them to.

Bisu has the most generic answer of the five ._.
I think Flash is going to do something very cute for his first game. That's why he tossed Sea and Bisu out of the group in order to lessen the pressure and increase the room for mistakes.
I really like the B&W photograph of Flash looking down and away. Regarding the videos, he seems to be in pretty good spirits. I'm sure he can break his ace loss streak soon!
Oh my god. Those "I love Teamliquid" vids were awesome. Jaedong and Midas had the best - grumpy and question. LOL. (Midas is too kyute in those outtakes)
Sea you so handsome. AWESOME TRANSLATIONS ABOVE. (Excuse my fanboy-ism/caps)
I agree with it being kind of dumb/stupid for them to be forced to say something to TeamLiquid, it just doesn't seem genuine at all. Maybe they do truly appreciate the support, maybe they don't, and don't get me wrong I'm not trying to say they don't. HOWEVER, I think it would be A LOT more meaningful and a lot cooler for us if the people who actually seem to know and appreciate foreign/teamliquid support were the ones who addressed it because then we (as fans) are more appreciative of them for being aware of our support, our community, and are able to make a deeper connection to them.
With that being said I appreciate Violet and Sea the most because they seem to be the most appreciative of the support and attempted to make a more meaningful message to their foreign fans, which can be seen in the fact that a) they attempted to speak english to better connect with their foreign fans and b) they're shout-outs to teamliquid don't seem as forced.
On June 25 2010 01:39 -Genome- wrote: What's with Bisu being so shy?
He's just pretty socially awkward in general.
If someone ran up to you with a camera and asked you to say something about a foreign website..I think I would act the same way..
It's not just this video. He seems to have a hard time formulating himself in a good way for regular interviews as well, and I'm pretty sure even he himself has mention at some point that he is pretty introverted, and I think Boxer said so as well in an interview they did together.

Um, I didn't force anyone to say anything. I politely asked them using my basic level of Korean if they'd say it along with whatever message they'd like to give their foreign fans. As for making a deeper connection - provide me with the resources that a team like Fomos has - money, over ten people on staff, not having to pay for everything themselves, and fluency in Korean and I could give you that kind of connection. I do my best with what I've got. Sorry if you think it's dumb/stupid, but I am only trying to make fun things for TL that we otherwise wouldn't get
I need to study more Korean, but I have to focus on my health right now. Plus I only do a small amount of events since retiring so the players are less used to me now.
Violet and Sea are the ones who speak the most English. Also Susie has a long-standing friendship with Sea so he knows all about us. Violet knows TL through his interview, my work, and his own personal browsing online. Although JD speaks some English he's pretty awkward at times. Bisu speaks almost zero English and is very awkward. Flash was pretty great to work with from day one. He just doesn't speak any English so it's harder for us to communicate. Midas is just too cute...I spend more time wanting to stuff him in my pocket than actually talking to him.
Thanks for all the supportive comments guys, and for the really timely translations! I decided to go for some less usual choices this time around, and the overdose of Bisu was actually as a favor to an STX/and Bisu fan girl who I'm friends with.

maybe the others can't speak english well. not all koreans can speak english you know lol.
also they definitely were not forced to. what kind of power does nevergg have over them? -.-
The power of boobs? ^_~ Nah, I just give them loads of food.
Hahaha, adorable! I have to admit (as a semi-hater) that Flash is growing on me. I might actually like him soon hahahah! ^_* Bisu is adorably shy in an awkward way as always, as are most of them! ^_^

Isn't that the same? There is almost no way they won't do it when asked so, that's just the way they are. So you never know whether they truly appreciate it...unless you say nothing and they do it on their own.
First off, I'm really sorry to NeverGG. I wasn't trying to bash on your work in anyway.
Secondly, I wasn't trying to say that all Koreans speak English well, but most if not all know some basics whether it be as little as Hello, Hi, Thank You, etc. I wasn't trying to speak poorly of the other progamers or anything, but wanted to point out that I truly appreciated those who seemed to be/have been making that extra effort to be knowledgeable and connect with foreign fans (which is why I said I appreciated Violet and Sea).
Also on the being forced part I realize no one's holding them at gunpoint saying that if they don't say something they're gonna be shot, (once again not trying to bash on anyone or anything) but how many of them without any sort of prompt would've said something about TL.net? (and if they did say it with no prompt then I once again apologize for making assumptions and jumping to conclusions) I'm not saying that the Korean progamers being unfamiliar with TL.net is necessarily a bad thing because they're Koreans who have their own Korean fanbase, communities, and websites that do the same thing. So the likelihood that most of them are unfamiliar with an international fanbase, international starcraft, or TL.net is very high. That's why I once again was trying to recognize and appreciate those who are more familiar with it, because I personally definitely appreciate them more.
In closing, I'd just like to say I did not mean to be negative or bash on anyone with my previously comment (or this current one for that matter) and I truly do appreciate all the work that NeverGG does for us at TL.net.

Imagine Hyungjoon at an MSL/OSL selection ceremony... that'd be a fun sight to sea.
I thought sea was going on and on and on but hey it's MSL, MBC Game Hero team icon sea, let him say whatever he wants to say. He was pretty funny, anyway. Big props to Hiya for the Rain ceremony. It's like since FBH isn't around anymore people have forgotten how to do one. Well done.
awesome as always nevergg, @work right now so I can't see the vids, but I'll watch it when I get home. No crazy suits/tux's, I always hope for that for the group selections.

Lol, I don't know why, but that reminds me of when + Show Spoiler +
Korean shorttrack speedskating men team (and J.R. Celski from Team USA) threw their winners bouquets at us, but unfortunately we end up catching the women ones instead.. apparently, men didn't know their strength, lol. We were so sad, hahah..so yeah, I would kill for a flower like Violet's (even if it's not fresh), just because it's from a man! lol
PS: Just saw the videos: 1. I think I just fall for Violet...^-^;;;; 1. Wow, Flash's "fighting" messages are so lively, I love them (as well as JD grumpy one XD) 2. Awwww, Bisu's "Hallo" is cutest thing I ever heard in ml. So cute.. I know Midas is also cute and all, but Busuuuu.. ♡♡♡
Once again, thank you so so so much, NeverGG!!! <3456789

I miss all the dressing up they used to do for OSL selection night. It's been pretty dull since it stopped a couple of seasons ago. I mainly use the event to practice my 'awkward stage setting' and 'boothgirls' photography these days :/
I reccommand people to watch Sea video! ahahahaaha~
His instant !@#$%^& before collecting his thoughts is very EPIC. When I saw it I go !? for a second or half a second before I collect back myself and laugh kekeke.
I'm pretty sure Bisu, JD and Stork (sadly he didn't make this MSL) know about TL since when I met them at WCG last year and show them my press pass (TL indeed), they recognized it. Like NeverGG said, though they don't really read TL, it's a good connection between them and foreign fans.
Very cool pictures and especially videos, if I was a chick i'd be all over Midas (no homo). Definitely looking forward to part 2, and then Flash getting his card. Will you be having Violet help explain TL to Flash, since he has previous experience (that in-depth interview last year)?

I don't think I've said this is totally awesome yet, which it totally is. These guys are real characters and it's too bad that we only get a few times a year to really see this (selection ceremonies, revenge matches, Old Boy / HJ BAP etc.)
You did a great job with this Never - big props and congrats to England also for qualifying for WC ko stage!

The best cakes I've had in Korea were from a smaller chain called Cafe Cino. Alot of cake here is covered in really sickly fake cream, but the ones without it are so delicious. I love Baskin Robbins ice cream cake too. (Shame I can't eat it on my diet :/ )

LJD is such a baller.
Midas is just so adorable I want to put him in my pocket all the time. If I go back to PL later on this year I'll try and do another shoot with him (Fourth shoot :S ) He's got a little legion of fangirls who treat him like a prince.
Once at PL I saw him sitting outside on one of the benches at OGN during a fanmeeting with them all sitting around him fanning him and giving him stuff to drink, and snacks.

Midas is easily the most adorable human in the world, and he is also cuter than most puppies. It's not just his face, but also his voice and his demeanor. The "I lov teamleekeedu?" was priceless, haha.
His famous awkward ceremony video makes me giggle uncontrollably like a schoolgirl every single time I watch it.
Ah thats so awesome <3 Jaedong. You will make it to the finals again and 3-0 your opponent and the OSL also you will make it to the finals of both starleagues and win (hey I can dream!)

That finals was bloody awful though. Easier job for me, but no drama ;_; I got bored during the games (even with Susie there for company) so I ended up just delivering cookies and soda to Violet :S
The videos are WTF amazing hahaha. Stork is no longer alone with his "I love TL". That said, I really like Violet's attitude. He sounds like the most fun guy out of the bunch. If he just played a bit more consistently...
