Btw, this picture... here, Boxer's face just makes me sad We don't have much time left, Jaedong, Flash, and everyone else needs to get their stuff together to promote esports out of this niche market

This is such a funny interview to think about. They finally get them together and these are the kind of questions they ask? Korea is silly sometimes! Thank you for this, good to see them in the same interview for once :D

Only Nada, Oov, Yellow, Julyzerg, Reach, Flash, and Jaedong should be given that honor. dude, comparatively, tossgirl was way more dominant than any male has ever been. so chill out. also: Koreans have some pretty stringent rules when it comes to appearance. I don't see how either of them could be considered old, much less wrinkly, LoL

In this interview he was more tame in his message, but his last one irked me a bit. He is the emperor, but at the same time he's pretty much exclusively a player coach there for experience and moral. I don't think he should tell players who are at the top of the scene that they aren't as great as he was at his peak just because they have different priorities and grew up in a different esports culture (one much more established and controlled than the one Boxer grew up in.) Not trying to disrespect Boxer, I'm just giving my two cents about his esports opinion.

It feels like because esports aren't going the way HE thinks they should that they must obviously be going the wrong way. I agree that there's some things that could be different, like player personalities and attitudes about what's important, but the games themselves (imo) keep getting more and more interesting/deeper and with Jaedong and Flash playing at such a high level it seems strange to say (edit: imply) esports is in trouble. It shouldn't be up to over-worked 16 and 18yo's to promote the industry. That's what managers and professional PR ppl are for. I'm amazed on the one hand fans, interviewers and Boxer himself can give himself a big hearty pat on the back for promoting e-sports and then in the next breath say the scene is in trouble and dying. Talk about having it both ways. I can’t keep this spot forever. But honestly, this is a really good thing for me. The fact that a lot of places call me up for things is still important for my self-advertisement. This made me feel like he's becoming an attention-whore. Possibly some things are lost in translation but I totally agree with you man, esports is healthier than ever and you get the distinct impression from his criticism of the scene, his bemoaning replays becoming available, his complaints about his health and his general feeling that esports is less popular (which according to Mr Hoon isn't true given audience numbers) that Boxer is just annoyed he is no longer a youthful twenty-something SC God. Tossgirl: I think there are players who need better numbers, and those who need more fame. This. Humble and more objective.

Boxer: Honestly, after I dropped out of the preliminaries, I’m in a panic mode. I don’t know if I can say this, but I thought this would be the last preliminary that I would attempt as a SC1 player. Therefore, I refused to televise my matches in order to focus despite the fact that a lot of fans wanted to see me. I remeber ppl complaining on MBC for not televising his matches and now we find the answer to why they were not televised
