Apparently Emory is in Georgia... and Duke is in NC, which is relatively close to GA. Pretty sure all of the Georgia schools are in that division... don't hear them complaining yet o.O.
UGA here.
Our division is quite hard because of GT and Duke.

peter read the rules like wtfyoubaddivadmin.
The top three teams in each Division will advance to the playoffs. The first place finisher in each Division will be seeded in the Round of 16, while the second and third place finishers will be placed in the Round of 32. The playoffs will be split by East and West Conferences, with the winners of each conference facing off in the Grand Final.
I mean, the wording's not the best in terms of saying "Round of 32", but it's pretty clear =X.

If this has already been done, forgive me.
I think the top 8 powerhouses should be in their own division, for the sake of future CSL's.
You can really get a better judge of how good some universities are by trying to guarantee the ro16 seeds to the best colleges, thereby allowing everyone else to figure out how good they are.
For instance, say the 1st and 2nd best teams are in the same divison. The ro16 seed for that division should theoretically go to the #1 team, but then you would have the #2 team destroying everyone else in the ro32, giving less indication as to how good the defeated colleges really are.
Like I said, I don't know if this has been done, this is my first time playing in/following the CSL. I really don't know who the top 8 are.

I really would have liked to see one older, non-standard sort of map make it into the map pool (ie. Hitchhiker, Monty Hall, Troy...) But I don't know, people tend to have different ideas of what's a good map pool...

hmm. I think he might of meant one per division.
Anyway, we can only judge for ourselves who the top 8 are... and we could always be wrong. We though Berkeley would pwn face last season and they failed to meet our expectations. I think the way the divisions are set up now has a generally good balance of good and bad teams and whatnot though..

Sorry if this has been answered already, but when do you think the first round of matches will begin?

Proleague doesn't purposefully run dated maps because they've been already played a lot.
As for imbalanced, you make it sound like all older maps fall into that category. I don't see how their more imbalanced then the current ones in the map pool. In addition, map imbalanced at the level CSL is played at is probably much less of a factor than at the level pros play at...
Anyways, as I said, I would have liked to see ONE of those maps make it in, just for a change-of-pace sort of map. It's sort of a moot point anyways since they aren't really going to change it...

reflecting more I think that this map pool is easily the best CSL has ever had, mostly becuase its all current maps except for outsider/hbr/desti. fortunately outsider and hbr are 2 of the best maps of all time (and literally JUST not current any more). desti is really the only bad map in the pool :D
