you could just screenshot it and post the image
I tried it, but the problem is that TL uses a script-based image system. I can't copy a picture from my computer to my post, and since the picture isn't on the web, posting the link does nothing. Any ideas?

Did you happen to keep the raw data? It should be pretty simple to calculate it in different ways if we have a compilation of all the ranks.
|
So you didn't keep the raw data (in excel), too bad.
I just added everything up in a big tablo. Didn't write the dates and so...
If you're referring to me writing down every power rank individually, then no. I just used all the numbers and changed them whenever necessary. Remember, i did this long before I joined TL. I didn't expect anyone to be asking about this sort of thing at the time. But if you're so desperate to see more yearly data, then by all means: do your own tablo.

I'm really interested in this now, I'll try to compile a list that has all of the actual data and post it so people can do whatever to it
thinking spreadsheet that has rank-player-date is good, yes? Then you can just run the calcs from date x to y or whatever in your program of choice

Power Rank Tablo
Not the smoothest operation, but I think it will work, although you're gonna have to zoom in a lil'.
Oh, and thx JWD, btw for the tip btw.

Okays, I tallied up the data for the last 4, 8 and 12 months. I made it of all PR recipients but I only chose a select few to actually find the data. It includes this month's rankings.
Flash: 22,21,28 Jaedong: 39,35,27 Calm: 32, 4, NA Stork: 14, 6, 20 Bisu: 29, 35, 35 Fantasy: 30, 28, NA Effort: 13, 22, NA Jangbi: NA, 8, 32 Yarnc: 6, 14, NA Skyhigh: 2, 10, NA Leta: NA, 17, 23
Damn, that wasted a lot of post-its.

IIRC the Manifesto7 ranking was actually stork(and the comment on that said it), but FS hates stork, so he decided to put Mani's name up instead.
Thanks for the spreadsheet.

I'm so surprised Much made #10. Haven't seen him on PR in so long
I miss the grandpa toss.

Okay I went and ran the numbers on this from that xls I made. I got the same ranks but slightly different numbers - I'm inclined to say mine are more correct because copying down the ranks kind of corrects itself. I have Stork in Mani's place in one of the ranks so thats also relevant.
Here is the total output. Avgscore is the average number of points, so the inverse of "average rank" on the PR. It broke when I tried to make it average rank and I'm a bad programmer so thats the best I can do. Once I figure out how to get it to read dates correctly I can generate the same thing broken down into years.

I want to do this for the KeSPA ranks but I'm having trouble getting those compiled.

JD is 7 pts behind, but he started a year later. that's pretty good.

A lot of people might consider Hwasin as a pretty average terran but people seem to forget that he's been one of the most consistently decent A-team terrans out there. Plus, he's also one of the few terrans who can use straight up SK terran without looking like a utter tool which means quite a bit.
Fantasy seems to play extremely well or extremely badly against a wide range of progamers. His recent games against decent players like Type B, Stats, Upmagic have been pretty bad and his games against the top of the bunch like Stork and Calm have him being schooled. Despite this, sometimes something for him clicks and he get the ability to play solidly and beat the very best like Jaedong and Flash.
Considering Hwasin has been around since like 2006 and has been pretty much solid throughout his whole career, its no surprise that Hwasin has been on the power rank more often than Fantasy hence being the reason why Hwasin is beating Fantasy by just a little bit.

Big 4 in top 4, no surprise there.
