After seeing the Klazart thread and people saying that there are commentators with much better insight, I'm wondering who these are. I used to think Tasteless was really good but after watching a lot of GOM with him and SDM I realise they simply talk a lot about non-game related stuff and don't do that much analysis.

So I'm interested to watch some GOOD starcraft commentating that actually talks really indepth about what's going on in the game. Please help!

If you want to here someone talk a lot, watch Husky. He's entertaining, depends how much depth you want.. He's probably only a C-ish player.

Gotta agree with GTR... I'm sure most everyone else will too. The best commentator who puts out stuff consistently imo is Diggity.

Day[9] is the best. If he made commentary vods, I wouldn't watch anything else

Day[9] is the best I agree.

Artosis/Chill is a great combo. SDM is an awesome commentator without tasteless to distract him.

I'm gonna start commentating but I'll be horrible and insulted becuase i don't have in-depth strategical knowledge but w/e I'm doing it for my own amusement.

This. If you're looking for dry, very analytical, in-depth game knowledge, Chill is spectacular.

Tasteless and sdm have become, what seems like to me, the equivalent of a fighting game commentator that really doesn't talk about the game, and more on other stuff unless they see a big moment.

I'd rather listen to Tasteless/SDM over any other commentator any day they are by far the most entertaining.

check the VioleTAK account on Youtube.

that is where all dual, triple, quad commentaries go.

watch a few matches you might be interested in, and see which commentators you like most.

the cholera and rise duo used to be my favorite, but they don't do dual commentaries anymore.

they were the ones who brought me into starcraft pro scene.

don't think Rise does any commentary anymore. too bad.

cholera is nice for the casual watcher like me.
low amount of analysis - but analysis nonetheless
lots of "jokes" that you'll understand only if you follow his videos, and have to know abit about the SC scene
and even then, it's not funny sometimes, but at least he tries! makes watching SC fun imo.

for indepth analysis, no idea. i get bored from some of the other commentators. especially 25+ minute games.

I agree that Chill and Artosis do a great job with their technical knowledge. I think one thing that often gets overlooked--especially with YouTube English commentaries--is that multiple commentators deal with vent lag, stream desync, etc., and it makes it a lot more difficult to develop a nice flow between voices. This is why they typically have a rotation where they each say something in turn, much different from a more typical play-by-play with color commentary with which we are familiar from traditional sports.

Chill is my favorite, though. ::COUGH:: I wish he would do more FPVOD's ::COUGH::

After SDM/lilsusie started co-casting with Tasteless I think the quality of his casts dropped considerably IMO. I'd rather watch a Cholera-casted game than a GOM game nowaday. Cholera is incredible as far as amateur casters go... IMO he's almost certainly the best out of all the sc2gg guys.

Artosis > all, though.

None of which have done any recent pro commentary, right? Just foreigner games? Shame because I really like the strategic insight into the games, rather than the Klazart and other youtube'r styles of just describing what is going on in an excited voice.

Oh yea, I liked SDM and Tasteless alot when they did GOM.

Decent analysis, and not boring at all. Second fav duo after Cholera + Rise.

I agree, I like Cholera a lot more than klazart/moletrap
