Short and simple for a first blog, I'll probably extrapolate on this idea later, but here is the gist.
Terran = Stylish. FPVOD's, Build orders, and an FAQ
Protoss = Well, toss doesn't need as much help, but oystein started around the same time as stylish, and thats good enough.
Now, answer me this, what thread or resource would you recommend to your aspiring zerg player, prior to liquipedia? Thats right, Day[9]'s podcasts. Now, this is strictly opinion, but I personally have never managed to make it too far into one of his podcasts without getting really, really bored. Am I the only one? I don't play zerg mind you, but you be the judge.

woot look at all those zvx matchups
|
I don't get bored during his podcasts.. ;o
but i do agree someone needs to make a more detailed guide for zergs just like stylish's with fpvods and replays instead of just walls of text.

I play protoss and I make it through his non-race specific podcasts just fine

Ahzz has some pretty good Zerg FPVODs
|
Hmm, if I remember Day[9] only has 2 zerg-specific podcasts. He does a really good job giving examples for how to apply his lessons for each race.
|
Yeah go check out Ahzz's vids... though he his study materials are older than Stylish's. My friend also is a fanatic for Ret's FPVOD stream, so check it out too. I think it's on right now.

Day[9] is pimp and I don't get bored of his podcasts. If anything, I find them really entertaining. I still lose at ZvT (mech) so they might not have helped me too much.
|
Well these days, Liquipedia should be just fine. However, DAy[9]'s podcasts are helpful to all 3 races, and its better if they have a good understanding of the game, beacuse that way they will know what do in any match up!
|
Oystein also makes Zerg fpVODs.
Smi.lols(w3jjjj) has made a number of high quality guides for Zerg, Ahzz has a lot of fpVODs on his youtube. In the strategy forum you have Attackzerg, smi.lols, Cloud and others responding to help threads.
And you get bored during Day[9]'s audios?
|
Like I said, I wouldn't know. I've seen a lot of people say that Day[9] was the stylish and oystein of zerg. And it still doesn't really explain how there are so many ZvX concepts that even I've heard covered at one point in time or another.
|
If anything I thought that zerg had the best coverage. Ahzz's ultimate zerg guide does a pretty good job of covering most topics other than the recent innovations of 3 hatch spire builds in zvp and 2 hatch builds in zvt, which each have their own recent in depth guides. Other than that you have a lot of random guides like Stryker's guide on improving ZvT, Superiorwolf's guide on adapting ZvP, and probably a few others I missed in addition to day9's podcasts. Plus Ahzz's and Chill's fpvods.

Well this is assuming that there are equal numbers of Terran, Protoss, and Zerg users, or relatively similar.
for example, in this very thread there are even more zerg users than terran/protoss combined.
Thus a silly poll which doesn't really prove anything unless the numbers are absurd ~!

I like his casts fine.
It depends on your attitude. He tries to promote a learning mentality, rather than just 'here's the answers.' If you're waiting for the answers, you'll probably get bored listening to him.

If you get bored listening to them, I'm transcribing them all into text and should have them all up in a couple of weeks (depending on how lazy/busy I am).

huh, where did you grab the race icon data?
and, incidentally, the zerg section on liquipedia needs the most work. I think that a lot of the problem with teaching zerg is that making units necessarily means cutting drone production, which makes it so that to play zerg well, you need to learn how to cut drones well first.
