Yes, noone expects doom drops from zerg now so it works really well. It used to be a viable strat and is relatively easy to pull off.

Yeah, you just get the gas for grades. I usually dont use lurkers or lings, I just hydra the shit of them.

I was going to make a strategy post on how to doom drop but I guess I can ask it here instead. What's the mechanics for doing a doom drop so that your ovies keep moving? Do you press shift+u on all your overlords really quickly?

Clicking on the Overlord, hitting u, and clicking on him again will make it drop while moving (if it drops all the units before it reaches its destination of course) I don't know why you would want to press shift + u, I imagine that would queue unload and defeat the purpose.

The most reliable way is to just do that on all of them while they are moving. The other method is pressing u and clicking in the middle of your overlords but in my experience it's really hard if not impossible to ensure every single overlord will continue moving. Granted if it's a massive drop I won't bother trying to manually unload, if it's more than 5 or 6 overlords it's probably better to try to click the middle of them and if one or two stop deal with it individually.

Max rank only C-, I was focusing too much on watching my drops, my APM sucked. Most of my losses come from this (And DT drops which he actually did and killed lots of drones :< why can't the game warn me even if drones die in 1 hit ><)

My minerals were up since the third was mineral only, and I didn't even have enough gas even for hydras so I decided to take a 3rd gas but forgot to add extra hatches as well ;;

I just did the 3 Hatch Spire -> 5 Hatch Hydra build, got second gas and started researching overlord stuff (I think this is what Effort did too)
