Ok, just that you are warned, this is not about SC! My whole eSports history started with StarCraft, and it helped me to achieve and do all the things I did until now.
As ESNation/MYM went bankrupt, I needed a new job and now I launched my own team. It is a female CS team but here comes the special things, it doesnt relay on sponsors only but for example also on zinicauction.com which is its own auction portal. The team itsself is prolly the best cs female team those days.
We also wanna promote more equal conditions within eSports between boys and girls and wanna attract people outside eSports while we do roadtrips with the girls and go to shopping malls and so on.
The announcement is here http://myzinic.com/2009/04/pink-zinic-is-born/
while the homepage is www.myzinic.com
Check the first few newsposts there if u wanna see more about the press conference we hold on Friday in Copenhagen, Denmark where a couple of press people form whole Europe have been invited to.

Can you tell me more about the "equal conditions" that you're striving for? Is it harder for girls of the same skill level to get into the competitive scene as guys? Or is it that it's harder for them to get respect due to male dominated gaming communities making remarks about cooking and cleaning?

neat idea, hopefully you can show some good results

Does a girls-only team promote equality in e-sports? It seems to me like it promotes a separate but equal culture which I don't think is what you want :-/

So what's up with Swedish girls being among the prettiest on this planet?

well the ones featured here aren't exactly the prettiest on this planet -_-,;

no its actually the other way around, it is insanely easier for girls of the same level to get into the competitive scene.

According to me, these girls are way below average Swedish girl hotness. Also, I don't like this picture: http://myzinic.com/pic/zinicposter1.jpg.
Anyway, good luck with the team Crow. eSports needs more positive news like this.

Are they going to play in real leagues or only female leagues?
Yes, the implication is that female only competition is watered down.

starting an all female team is sexism in and of itself. Especially when you take into account that female team will be fully sponsored and promoted and have the same financial backing as a male team that has 10 times their skill. Or when you consider that there are hundreds if not thousands of male teams that are better then the female team but they will never be known and wont receive a penny of sponsorship. Is this the sexism you were referring to?

Thanks guys, I was expecting I will get flamed to death cause I made it all the way from SC to CS :D but seriously, I also help out on readmore.eu with news and coverage and hope that makes it possible I can attend again some events this year and do a bunch of SC video interviews. Did like 100 interviews last year, but without any doubt the SC guys give the best answers and bring the most fun
Well daz, I don't agree that female teams have for example the same financial backing as male teams. In general the female scene is not really developed and established. I see the reason for that in the fact that they never were given a chance. The community didn't want to take them serious (is that a wonder when 95% of the eSports community are males?), the eSports press often ignored them, the same goes when it comes to tournament holders.
For example there is the ESL Major Series for female Counter-Strike. 750 Euro in cash every season. Last season actually Zinic won, but you can find a news no where. I wonder why it is like that. That is for example one thing when I talk about fighting for more equal conditions.
Another thing is that girls are often just not allowed to participate in male tournaments in CS. But why? Even if they drop out in the first round, shouldn't they given a try? Otherwise, where is the motivation for the girls to practice, where is the motivation for them to become better, where is the motivation for them to even play in the end?
One thing that is behind that all is www.zinicauction.com (better design to come!), which can make it possible that eSports doesn't depend only on sponsors any longer in the future.

Anyway, we do not have the same stigma about sex difference either, and playing computer games is 100% socially accepted here.

I Always thought the female gamers just played in normal leagues like everybody else, we are talking about a COMPUTER GAME not some PHYSICAL SPORT. Girls don't have any Disadvantage or Advantage to us males this shit doesn't make any sense ban girls from tournaments wtf is this even true rofl never heard of this ever.?!
Tho the reason we don't talk about it is because you girls have your own leagues with like 2 teams nobody cares about that shit. You should just go to the managers of those teams and say ey FUCK YOU YO I'm participating in this tourny. What can they do too stop you?
From what I know Professional Female World of Warcraft players (I know WoW sucks but w/e) just play against the boys why is this different for CS?

That's not true at all. Look at Queen and others who've competed on in regular tournaments before. Separate male/female teams is an artificial construction, there's no reason they shouldn't be playing on the same field.

Also wow is not competitive, anyone smart enough to post on TL could become a world class wow player after a weeks training. And of course in wow since it is an actual mmorpg, you know how girls always gets stuff for free and gets to join guilds even though they do not got the talent or gear just because the guild master gets excited by the possibility of this gamer some day spawning his offspring.
Anyhow, men are better in almost every area compared to women so for women to get to compete they need their own league(With this I mean that the best men are better than the best women, for average persons I don't know since there isn't much stats for everything). Men got both more physical strength and geekiness, if we define a geek as someone who is more interested in a special subject rather than socializing the geekier you are the better you can get at what you are doing.

I was saying that if you take a male team and a female team of the same skill, the female team will have WAY MORE FINANCIAL BACKING. For example your team Zinic, if a male team that had the same skill level as Zinic approached you and asked for sponsorship, you would probably tell them they suck and laugh at them until they left. Edit: But they dont need to be able to compete, because they are girls, they will get money from guys like Crow who are promoting "equality"

It'd just be nice if it were billed that way, instead of for "equality."
It would be interesting to see what would happen if a college had an official e-sports team.

yeah i have no problem with that, it is what it is, it just bugs me when people try to pass it off as something noble or like they're following some kind of good cause, thats just BS

Interesting that girl gamers/organizations claim to want equality yet have threads/organizations/teams like this made that get them more attention than they ever would normally have deserved.
If this team warranted much attention as a competitive team then people would already have heard of them, considering they're an all gaming team. But this, just like every other "female progaming team" is just what it is as usual.

Maybe for some starcraft perspective; female team vs male team - non-korean team vs korean team.
Pretty similar. Can safely say that all the non-koreans wouldn't even register on the scale if they were instead born as koreans (assuming no skill changes resulting from that). It is still frustrating to miss out on opportunities due to things out of your control.

Who knows. Certainly there's a general difference between men and women in starcraft, and between koreans and non-koreans, whether due to environment or due to population sizes or even due to genetics if that is truly the case. There's not so much evidence as to how korean women compare to non-korean men in SC.
None of that was my point though. I wanted to point out the non-koreans in SC thing, as it may relate more to people reading this, and hence give people a bit of compassion for the female gamers.
