Here I am sitting, waiting for my next class.
I had an essay due this morning at 10am.
So I leave at my usual time from home to campus.
I leave at 9:15am, more than enough time to get to class.
AND I ARRIVE AT 11:15am
WTF!? 2 hours.. sitting and stressing out about handing this shit in. My prof isn't even in her office until Wed, the TAs have no e-mail. Omg
I e-mailed her but do you think it will still be accepted?
Is, "Was in a BIG traffic jam on the highway" a good enough reason to accept my essay? Fuck, it's not like I could have ditched my car and taken a helicopter or something. Sigh..
Fuck traffic jams, so bullshit.

yeah just give it to her next class meeting or tomorrow. She'll accept it (given she is a nice college professor and not some dumbfuck who was taken out of a kindergarten [like in many cases t.t])

Yeah I was 20+ minutes late for my class this morning because of a traffic jam
not quite 2 hours, but annoying as hell

I was also a litle late for class. I slept in and caught a later bus. I was like 5 minutes late. I know how you feel.

small campus = no cars. But last year in HS I was consistently late to class >>. We have some of the worst traffic in the nation (DC area)

yeah i hear ya xhuwin, when i was in high school, during the morning commute to school, it took 30 minutes to drive 3.5 miles to school. fricken traffic to get onto I-95 is a bitch.

Totally teacher dependent. I've had teachers that can care less and are understanding that shit like this happens in the real world. Then I've got shitheads who will mark me down to a B+ for the semester despite having 90% of my grades as A's, just because of a few lates. And he knows that our campus is totally overcrowede and has limited parking.

If it's that big of a jam, then you should be able to prove that there was an accident on road X or whatever... I really don't see how the instructor can downgrade you for that.
I'm occasionally late to work because of an accident on the highway and yeah it's annoying :o
But what's worse is when you are driving home today at about 4:30pm, and some guy decides to lane change right into your car and you have to slam on the brakes to avoid an accident, sandwiched between a bigass SUV and a concrete wall.

I go a private school
Private schools here start at 7:30am while public schools start at 7:45am (dont ask me why)
If I leave home at 6:30, I get to school at 6:40.
If I leave home at 6:45, I get to school at 7:00
If I leave home at 7:00, I get to school at 7:40
I hate waiting for class doing nothing. My teachers hate it when I'm late T_T

Usually in a situation like that you figure out a way to make use of that time while you are early so that you don't feel that bad going to bed early in order to get up early.

The traffic jams around here are really bad at the moment because of roadworks. Fortunately I can cycle to lectures, so when it's really bad you just transform into a pedestrian O_o!

If you are delayed 2 hours I hope it makes the news or something. That's utterly ridiculous. How can a society function like that if you will randomly be delayed 2 hours in your day. You can lose your job over that, forget school. I would kill myself.
