Since this is my first cooking blog I'll start off with three recipes today.
+ Show Spoiler [Pork/Chicken Adobo] +
There are many more complicated ways to make this dish, but this is my oversimplified method that's just as (if not more so) tasty. You can probably also use beef for this, but it might not taste as good.
Ingredients
-1 pound of pork or chicken cut into large, but still bite sized pieces.
-1 cup of vinegar (any vinegar will do except apple cider)
-1/4 cup of soy sauce
-1 clove of crushed and minced garlic
-cracked black peppercorns to taste (or if you don't have whole peppercorns just regular black pepper will do)
Cooking
1) This part isn't necessary, but if you like you can fry the meat in a frying pan with butter for a few minutes just to get them nicely browned.
2) Throw everything into a sauce pan. Turn the stove onto medium, and just let everything sit uncovered for 40-50 minutes stirring occasionally.
3) That's it. If the sauce starts drying up you can add more, just keep the vinegar to soy sauce ratio at 4:1
The sauce goes great on rice! ^_^

+ Show Spoiler [Easy as fuck baked red potatoes] +
I made this and some frozen chicken fingers for my dad (my dad and I take turns cooking dinner) when I was too lazy to make anything more complicated. It's stupidly easy, yet my dad (and everyone I've ever cooked them for) always ask what the recipe is because apparently it's actually that good.
Ingredients
-About 8 small red potatoes cut into quarters
-A clove or two of garlic crushed and minced
-Salt (however much you feel like adding)
-Pepper (same)
-About half a handful of a mix of rosemary, thyme, oregano, basil, and whatever herb you have that fits into this category (I just use a container of "Italian Seasoning" that includes all of this I think)
-1/4 cup of olive oil (I actually just eyeball it so I'm not sure exactly how much I use)
Cooking
1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
2) Drop everything into a huge ass bowl and mix with your hands (make sure your hands are clean)
3) After everything is mixed thoroughly place the potatoes in a baking dish large enough so that the potatoes don't pile on top of each other.
4) Once the oven is preheated, put the potatoes in and bake for an hour.
5) Take the potatoes out and enjoy!

+ Show Spoiler [Home Made Pasta Sauce] +
Just some really simple to make tomato pasta sauce.
Ingredients
-A can of diced tomatoes
-A can of tomato sauce
-A clove or two of garlic crushed and minced
-Half a can (the small 4oz cans) of tomato paste
-Italian Seasoning (refer to my previous recipe for clarification)
Optional: half a pound of ground beef
Cooking
1) Put everything (except the ground beef) into a sauce pan, and turn the stove on to medium-low
1a) Optional: Heat up a frying pan and add in the ground beef and start frying/stirring it. Once the meat is browned, drain the fat and add the meat into the sauce.
2) Gently stir the sauce every 10 minutes for an hour or 2 (or until the sauce looks done to you).
3) Add the sauce to whatever you want (probably spaghetti) and enjoy!

I'll see you guys with my next recipe...whenever I get around to writing another one of these.
