I call this the Link build because it resembles Link from The legend of Zelda
Normally in runescape, there is a "Battle Triangle", which is: Warrior beats Ranged, Ranged beats Mage and Mage beats warrior, this build that you are about to read can beat all 3 of them and every other hybrid build.
Build:
Armour
Ranging Armour with ranging(leather) shield and warrior shield.
Ranging Armour can highly reduce the chance to be hit by mage spells/snares and has defence against all build for example:
Green d'hide body has:
+40 stab defence
+32 slash defence
+45 crush defence
+20 magic defence
+40 ranged defence
Weapons
1 handed sword(melee)/staff if you do have a crossbow which is better than your 1 handed melee weapon, it is an alternative as mage/melee/ranged armour has similar ranged/melee defence
Having these weapons along with the armour can allow you to take on any type of player, as in, warrior, mage ranged and all other hybrid builds.
Match-ups:
Against Warrior: This includes any other type of warrior armour hybrid build
change to staff and snare, then blast with magic spell.
This way, you would not be hit and can blast from a distance
Warriors use completely warrior armour and melee weapons
Warrior armour had negative magic defence compared to Ranged armour which has positive melee defence
Against Mage:
Use sword + ranging shield
This greatly reduces the chance to be snared and the sword would defeat them
This way, it is very unlikely that you would get snared and you can defeat with the melee weapon
Mages use completely mage armour and mage weapons spell damage
Mage armour has 0 melee defence compared to Ranged armour which has positive magic defence
Against Ranged - This spec is the closest build that can beat Link build
Use sword and warrior shield
Link build against Ranged has identical statistics other than Link build has a shield which is extra armour
Against other hybrid builds
If your facing someone with Warrior armour and a bow, you can beat them with staff and firing spell damage
Warrior armour has negative magic defence compared to Ranged armour which has positive Ranged defence
If your facing someone with Mage armour and a bow, you can beat them with sword and warrior shield
Mage armour has 0 melee defence compared to Ranged armour and warrior shield which has positive Ranged defence
If your facing someone with Mage armour and a melee weapon, you can beat them with sword and warrior shield
Mage armour has 0 melee defence compared to Ranged armour and warrior shield which has positive melee defence
This spec is the closest hybrid build that can beat Link build
If your facing someone with Ranged armour and a Magic weapon, you can beat them with sword and Ranging shield
Ranged armour has positive melee defence compared to Ranged armour and Ranging shield(which is extra magic defence) which has positive magic defence
