SC2 - non-Korean scene SC: R - Koreans and people who have nostalgia Still, I don't see both being able to compete with CS: GO, LoL, DotA and so on. Also, which programming languages are you picking up? If you need some help, feel free to message me. I'm a software engineer and I can try to help.

Unfortunately, I don't think it shows a lot of promise to anyone. Low twitch views and popularity, very risky, especially in an era where most of the games at Dreamhack/MLG/ESL have some partnership with the publishers. I don't think it's like a hopeless dreary thing, I think the Smash community has shown that grass roots can still put on some fucking awesome tournaments.

I feel like it's unfortunate if BW loses you as a gamer in the competitive scene because we need established personalities to stream and generate attention. We need guys like you, Draco, morrow etc. to stay committed long enough to give organizers time to say to sponsors "See who is playing and what views they are getting? This is worth investing in." No matter what I will appreciate whatever you chose and enjoy both SC1 and SC2 also for most of the different reasons you listed. Just know if you do choose BW, dedicated guys like me (well when I return in 2018) are working their butts off to make things happen. I think this is the key. One of my favorite streams of the last year was the SC: Remastered launch stream. I loved all the cute stories from the good ol' days as well as the banter as players competed vs. eachother. It felt very personal and special, and I think we need find a way to make more of those stories. Something like that and HSC is I think what the community will need to get invested with the players and the community as a whole.

I've been playing for 10 years and still suck, so have countless others. that isn't to say it's going to die off and that's not to say it's going to never have big tournaments again worth playing in, it will, the goal is no longer to outgun those other games, it's just to be a great RTS, which clearly it has been doing well.

Also Italian BW tournament was a failure aswell. It is stupid not to invite the foreigner with the highest ELO but inviting other unknown players.Inviting a korean pro gamer was a huge mistake too.If you care about koreans you can go watch ASL for that.
