Hey all. It's been a few weeks since my last blog about my electronic music producing journey.
I went to see Liquid Stranger (From Sweden), Manic Focus, and Luczid this past Wednesday--was great to go to a show. The last shows I went to were Ganja White Night (From Belgium), and before that Space Jesus in the past year.
I've definitely been enjoying immersing myself in creating tracks and constantly playing them back on various sound systems so I can attempt to find the final mixdowns that I'm looking for.
I feel I've made a decent amount of progress and am learning more and more every time I open Ableton.
I made a SoundCloud page, and also have been taking time here and there to surf around and see where I can end up through followers of followers etc. I've found some really interesting music to say the least.
I took a good amount of time working on my recent tracks, "Dharma" and "Bastet"
Last night I created my newest project, "Vanish"
Here's a link to my SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/th1rdeye

Good to see you're pumping out tracks like a madman. What kind of style are you aiming for? What artist would you want to produce music like?

My soundcloud if you are interested but my sound rarely ventures beyond 1995.Hardcore/Breakbeat and Acid/Techno. https://m.soundcloud.com/greenberg
Most recent tune placed 5th/18 entries in an online comp a few weeks ago so is not available as a download - will be mastered and released on paranoid recordings soundcloud.
Anyway sorry to hijack your thread somewhat! What you should be doing now is building up your catalogue of samples.Which can be pretty daunting considering how much is out there (and a lot of it is expensive and shite tbh).

Good stuff NettleS That's kinda my biggest era of influence as well.. truly is one of the best times for Electronic- the Old School^^
Any ideas where I can get some great samples? Sampling is one of my favorite parts of this venture thus far. I've bought a couple shit packs already, and one pretty decent one.
Samplephonics.com is where I purchased the good one. I own AbstraktBreaks from there-- I'd be willing to talk a pack trade if you'd be interested. This specific pack has a lot of pretty good 120/140+BPM "real drum" breakbeat patterns, synths, FX, etc. https://www.samplephonics.com/products/sample-packs/electronica/abstract-breaks

I use reason 8 so im mainly using patches for the inbuilt synths not vsts but i can send over a really good hihat/snare/kick pack that i use in a lot of my stuff + i can send over a few of the sample packs created for the compos i enter which usually help give some track ideas (all wav format).
PM for more information
