Before I continue I'll talk about the title of this thread. In original StarCraft II, when discovering my Protoss enemy was gathering a Large cluster of void rays, I would blindly construct multiple factories and produce Thors.

I don't know if the rate, or scale of so-called beginner games is something the audience here finds interesting. But it was something that many a time, got me a victory which at the time I thought impossible.

can I try bring our memories to our previous experience, of the first Sc II?
Wings of liberty. The first release. How perfect, how unearthly with endless depth it seemed ( and arguably was ).
That devious protoss strategy, constructing a proxy pylon, warp gate and suddenly a void ray attacks their enemy.

3 rax, for the most the only means any Terran could survive.

the zerg player, always and forever.. unquestionably building a hatchery at their natural, no matter what the opposing party was doing.

I don't know if I can.. affectively convey to the audience here, my initial experience & perception of StarCraft II.
With vigour I played StarCraft one ( broodwars) and it was unthinkable, that something would ever replace it.

People are complaining.. making the claim that the game is dying or that, it is imbalanced.

In the light of recent events.. there are those unsure WHAT to expect and there are those expressing what THEY expect.

But if there is some cruel imbalance within the game... Inconsistency, disenchantment. imperfection... what word is denotative of 'error' we might experience?

WHAT was the reasoning to blizzard supposedly bending the game and making the current shape take so much strain and distressful pain?

Maybe.. It might be that Blizzard were trying to encourage the casual player to take the game to the next level. putting them in circumstances that constrain them to perform harder.

They might've wanted to depart from cliché strategies and openings..

but if there is a change, that must remedy the situation of imbalance and disappointment.
the next patch would bring about changes and modifications of such drastic difference... that the ardent player may well have to relearn the game.

for this reason..
all defects and technical anomalies.. cannot be addressed in a slow process.
The specs of the game will either revert back to what it was previously, or the next Patch will introduce an entirely new dynamic.

idk about hatch first early on, my memory is very much the opposite of that. If you didn't go pool first your chance of dying to a bunker rush was assured.

I do vividly remember just mercilessly abusing void rays to kill marines and Terrans in general way back when before they got nerfed. All it took was high ground. Like these unscalable overlooking plateaus above naturals on Lost Temple or these air only tiles next to gold bases on Kulas. Void rays were kings. Not even marines could deal with properly micro'd mass void ray shenanigans.

I disagree with both your wandering, slow style of writing and your assessment that there are imbalances (or perceived) in the game. There are a few very specific issues players raise like ultras, adepts, or tempests, but I think things are very well balanced in general.

They just aren't very fun.

I've written some extensive rants lately about that and I have no fuel left in my tank to write it again. Blizzard knows what to do. You and I agree on it. Make the game fun. Not balanced. Make it fun for all races and we'll have ourselves a second wind.

Yes.. I'm sorry if I was vague on my stance there..
I don't REALLY think it's un-balanced.

but how come there is such a huge amount of traffic of people saying that?
I know I could investigate, and judge their character based on their rank..


I was saying in this writing that Lord of the Void.. the multiplayer
Might have been an experiment, or the entire area, is a test ground..

It was a grand experiment and it introduced radical and very extreme units and changes..

but when or IF the game reverts back to order it will be a drastic change..
