when you have just finished playing a really long epic game and you just sit there and stare at the screen afterwards. Seconds turn into minutes as you try and grasp what just happened. Your whole body is still shaking with excitement and the adrenaline rush is all but gone, however, you also feel drained. Most importantly though, you enjoyed it. You feel like you hit your strides and have managed to reach a new climax in your game.
That's at least what it felt like after my latest TvZ game. TvZ has always been an interesting match-up and in my opinion, the best match-up in both BW and SCII (back when I played the game). Lots of different openings are possible for the terran and with good macro, it's possible to come back from a deficit. Alas, late game bio terran is also quite difficult to play especially considering how great zerg players are at using defilers.
this guy!
Though terran has the upper hand early on in the matchup, once the zerg player reaches the late game, it can go downhill pretty fast. Keeping on top of your macro, controlling your army well during large engagements especially in bio vs ling/ultra/defiler battles while also trying to establish a strong position to protect your expansions are but a few of the many things that make the match up quite the nightmare for all but the top terran pros.
However, that's also what so beautiful about this matchup even to a casual such as myself. This latest game was about 50 minutes long and was played on Circuit Breaker. Considering the details that will be missed with a battlereport and the inability to create long gifs similar to previous writeups, I decided that it's best to post an fpv of the game:
APM and control group usage
My game still needs a lot of work as is evident from the video. More macro structures, better production efficiency, better defensive positions and engagements, more map awareness (got me good this game), better army control and the list goes on and on and on ...

I tried TvZ once and I swear, pros use magic to make marine vs lurker look really easy.
BigFan is actually really good at marine vs lurker micro. His scv splitting and late game macro is shit among several other things... (it basically grinded to a halt at 7 raxes -.-)
but damn his marine vs lurker micro is amazing you should ask him for lessons
I on the other hand find bio to be and insurmountable task, where I have to hotkey my army my entire army, without mixing in different units (else i can't stim).. when I hotkey them my money just skyrockets hahahaha and I can't 1a2a3a I have to 1ta2ta3ta ..... so difficult ><
and of course there's the marine vs lurker micro......

BigFan had the best "climax" of his life after 50 minutes of intense BW. Confirmed.
^ you should continue ready the end of that sentence! lol.

ya, it's amazing. Even as a pretty casual player, I'm still making quite a bit of progress since I started.

for once this guy speaks the truth! lol. My marine vs lurker micro is damn good most of the time. It's not that bad to play against lurkers tbh. Hardest part is deciding when to engage and trying to get a split properly. It's quite fun
