So yeah, I played 300 games with one of the most one dimensional and boring heroes in Dota2, in most of the cases as a solid position 6.

http://www.dotabuff.com/players/131465760/matches?date=&hero=vengeful-spirit&skill_bracket=&lobby_type=&game_mode=&region=&faction=&duration=

My winrate moves between 57-58%, depending if im solo queuing or playing in a stack - obviously if you are playing selfless 6th position support communication is super important. So if there are other diehard support players who enjoy buying wards all game, swapping their carries out of trouble and dying in the process - you are not alone. I genuinely love supporting and I wish more people appreciate players who will rather have the entire map warded all game than getting a quick force staff.

Vindictive ex-girlfriend?

That's a lot of VS games, Jesus. I enjoy supports who ward and such, I like playing those. But I like more the free-roaming of them. Like Ogre Magi, I love playing because you don't have to sit in your lane and do nothing.

I think they can both roam. Venge and Orge have almost identical stun ranges and moment speeds. I don't think you would have any problems roaming with VS.

So little solo kill potential with this hero makes it really boring to play :S

they can, but ogre has a bit more trouble since hes melee and has a longer cast animation. wave of terror is very good for chasing too

You are quite right. Venge can't exactly make plays either, so the hero feels boring and all you can do is throw the occasional stun and swap an enemy hero or save your ally with a swap.

Nazgul has over 1000 games on BS, I will never reach that with venge.

I play mid on radiant every now and then - you can stack the ancients without leaving the lane with wave. Useful if you have tide or luna on the team. Also venge does pretty ok against pudge but obviously gets fucked hard by other popular mids like sniper and lina

And I thought playing venge for 98/99 straight times was hard core. Someone instapicked venge for the 99th or 100th game, so yeah that kinda pissed me off. Most of those games were on Solo Queue.

imo, if you dual roam with venge with another aggressive support like Ogre, Skywrath, etc. You can go 1-2-2-1 so you guys can get from the right clicks. leveling up the stun just drains the manapool faster. Also, you can stun-wave-stun if someone tps in to chase.

But damn, it's always nice to see fellow position 6 players around )

I have over 300 games on WD, but it is spread over different accounts. The one with the most is the below one. My main account isn't enabled for third party sites but has exactly 100 WD games and 152 Enigma ones.

http://www.dotabuff.com/players/133059304 I gave that account away to a fellow TL user. Prior to that it only had WD games.

I generally like position 4 a lot. Some warding, some ganking, a bit of farming, nice ultis. The best of all worlds. Jungle is also nice since it is a soft start to the game.

Is the reason why we have no TL team because nobody is willing to pick Blood seeker every single game?

One time I saw Nazgul pick BloodSeeker in an inhouse, and he destroyed everyone. We then said he could not pick BloodSeeker anymore since these inhouses were supposed to be fun

Then he randomed BloodSeeker the next game...

Literally a true story.

I am just beginning to learn about DotA and I have only been playing VS (around 30 games thus far). I have a couple of questions:

1) Any tips how to double stack jungle with wave? Which camps are best to stack as a safe lane support?
2) What items do you go for?
3) What determines when you get Tranqs or Treads?
4) Which other heroes synergise well with VS?
5) What should I focus on in the early game: stacking, zoning, or roaming?

I am a low skill/casual player who likes to 3-5 stack with my friends. But I do like watch and learn about Dota2. So any help would be appreciated.
If anyone has any serious prayer requests please PM me. Thx.

Vegne if she catches solo supports out with an early Urn can pretty much kill most of them with a Stun/Scream/Auto/Urn. She also does surprising damage later in the game with little to no items.

i'm not super high mmr, but I can give my opinion:

1) In general stacking hard camps or Ancients is ideal. Most Heroes which can flash-farm stacked camps use spells (like Lina, Batrider, Chen and ench, SF) to do so, so stacking hard camps is preferred because you cant get mud golems. Unless you triple chain pull on radiant either hard camp is fine, but in general it's better to stack the camps close to the midlane on radiant and close to the t2s at dire because they are harder to contest.
In order to clear ancient camps well you need a right-click hero who has some kind of aoe or at least range. Examples include anything that goes for bfury, Luna, Gyrocopter, Sven, TA. Heroes that have a physical spammable aoe nuke like bristle, axe, tide work as well. Most heroes who go for lifesteal like Void, Pa, Naix are solid as well.

2) Forcestaff, blink, medallion or urn are the usual first item choices after the standard courier-upgrade -> tp -> brown boots -> wand core.

3) I usually skip both on my #5 and stick to brown boots, but i see lots of people do otherwise. OP could probably give you more insight.

4) VS is rather flexible, but usually you want at least one big right-clicker to use her two amplification spells. She also works well with heroes like Bristle and Axe who deal physical damage and therefore profit from her wave. You can also easily use her in minus armor- or aura-stats. SF gets a special mention because he likes everything Venge does.
I also like to pick her when I dont want to waste a ban and want to pick something she counters, like batrider, faceless void or to a lesser extent enigma.
I think she's very well rounded overall and gives you a littlebit of everything (scales well, amplifies teammates, makes rosh easier, ok as aggressive support as well as defensive especially after lvl 6/11).

5) game dependent. If your lanes are doing fine stacking and pulling. If your safelane is doing fine but the other two not so much and you could make an impact by roaming (aka the lane you roam to has killing potential with you and/or you have a good other aggressive support roaming with you), roaming. If your safelane needs you to get farm, zoning.
If you cant zone bc their offlane is to strong roaming is usually the better choice than staying in the lane and leech xp.

Just my 2 cent, take them with a grain of salt.
low gravity, yes-yes!

I just like how you have killed 602 heroes more than you have stunned. That is 602 heroes that you were just like “fuck it, hit me back and see how that works out for you.” I would expect the numbers to be reversed.

Also Pholon probably has more than 300 games with meepo. I would say he is better at meepo than nazgul at BS

So any help would be appreciated.

i'm not super high mmr, but I can give my opinion:

I never max the stun first - usually I just leave it at 1 or 2 points and max wave first, then the aura. Wave is her best skill and should be maxed first in any situation.

Venge is really good with any lineup that relies on physical dmg, troll jugg, TB are all very nice. You also hard counter batrider and enigma but you are also very useful against LC, void and pudge, swapping ppl out of their ultimates.

As for the early game, it depends entirely on your teams line up. I feel as an actual lane support venge is pretty bad cause her range is short and she has terrible turn animation which makes it hard to zone people out. In dual lanes in particular against supports like lion lina and sky you are better off just stacking and pulling to get the creeps as close as possible to your tower cause otherwise neither you or your carry will get shit if you stay in lane to contest last hits.

Interesting hero combos I can recommend are venge + bloodseeker. Both ultimates go through bkb and dealing with rapture and level 3 swap is a nightmare - imo its one of the most obnoxious spell combos in the game. Also venge + techies is super fun, once you get lvl 3 or 2 swap no one is safe on the enemy team cause you can always swap them on top of mines. If you are roaming tusk + venge is very powerful cause you can reliably chase people and land both stuns, eliminating venge's biggest roaming problem , the low base movement speed and the short range on her stun.

Mirana with 245 games reporting in, if only i can combine the mirana games from another account then i might be near 300.

VS is not a boring hero lol. If only NS is picked more often he is the best partner with VS

Are you sure it's not because you're going to play 300 straight games of WW?

Holy shit man. 300 straight games. And my buddies taunt me for my almost 100 Viper games (Most played hero). I don't know whether to give kudos or feel bad.

So yeah, I played 300 games with one of the most one dimensional and boring heroes in Dota2, in most of the cases as a solid position 6.

I think we are kindred spirits, sir.

Small update on this haha

I reached top 1000 around my 350th game. Tbh im not playing venge that much at all cause I think she is pretty bad atm. Ive been mostly spamming WW and apparently got in a much higher skill bracket so I only needed a couple of games as venge to break in the top 1000
