I really dislike what Blizzard and League are bringing to competitive game. It's not so much about the games being mechanically simple or not but the platform they're providing doesn't support competitive gaming as much as it should be expected.
The possibilities to improve your game in League are a bit crippled. - Streams are a platform for players to have fun with their favorite streamers, which are now more intertainers than anything else. - Replays are non-existent. You don't see a community dedicated to sharing replays anymore. You are now forced to hop into a stream and fish as much knowledge as you can between "thanks for subbings" and memes and jokes. - No support for experimentation. League doesn't have a mode where you can play around with flash and ultimates to get your timings right.
With a game focused around streamers and acquiring skins, I feel like the game not only doesn't push players towards improving, but it also cripples the methods for those who do want to improve.
Blizzard is also taking weird turns on their games. One day I would like to see the result of all their games being automated right till the game starts (e.g. no menus, no modes, no chat).
I hope this blog didn't sound like a rant, because it isn't

It doesn't sounds like a rant, but I don't get what your point is.
You say streamers don't teach how to play and are just entertainers looking for subs, but I don't see why is that a problem, do you want blizzard/riot to force them to teach you the game?.
About the replay stuff, I don't know why the replay community sharing dying would be the developers fault? I guess they could have a hub in game where you can share your replays I guess.
About your last point, blizzard for example implemented the try mode on heroes of the storm to sort of try stuff, I guess riot could implement it too, but wouldn't that be a suggestion that you should make on their forums?
If you want to improve there are hundreds of guides and videos, some even from streamers like those of Day 9 that help out get better, but I , again don't see why teaching you the game.would be the responsibility of the developer/all the streamers, or why it is the "league mentality"
