"I may not be there yet. But I am closer than I was yesterday."
Fitness Review
This was today's objective:
So... I thought I had a driving lesson at 8am today, so I got up early despite only getting four hours sleep to find out that I didn't have one. As a result I was knackered for most of the day and wasn't as productive as I should have been.
The days routine however was fairly easy, which was a good thing as I seriously doubt I could have ran another 3km today. One thing I did notice however was the moves were putting quite a bit of strain or my stomach and as a result I felt really sick for a good hour afterwards and I am really not sure why.
Tomorrows exercise includes another 3km run, I am aiming to beat my record by using the techniques I have discovered over the past few days. So be sure to check back tomorrow!
The Days Diet
I am currently not on a diet but will be starting on one soon. This area will go over the days food intake and will include recipes so everyone can start eating better at home!
Starcraft 2 and Stream Review
These were today's objectives:
1. Be more patient when engaging R/H when playing Muta/Ling.
2. Continue to practice 2 Gate and 2 Rax defense.
3. Use lings to keep track of the terrans army positioning.
4. Re-practice ZvP build orders to improve all in defense.
Yet again I was unable to find a practice partner. So I just had to ladder, I only have time for 4 games but all the games were really good and provided me with clear areas to work on.
I ended up going 2-2 but I really should have gone 4-0 and I will explain why below.
My two ZvT's were the best games of the night. I demolished both opponents with ease. Both players opened with a slightly early attack than normal, but my improved map vision saw the attacks coming allowing me extra time to prepare. I was also more patient with my engagements which ensured I crushed their armies. I felt in total control during both games. A huge improvement.
Although I lost my only ZvP it was a good game and one I should have won. My opponent was the first master played I had faced since I had started this program. He opened with a gateway expand and proceeded to go for a gateway all in, I scouted it perfectly and didn't prepare to early. This allowed me to hold it off with ease while still maintaining a good economy. I had the game firmly in my control when he made about 10-15 dt's and sent them to every single base. He did a lot of economic damage and followed it up with a mass two base blink stalker all in. I only barely failed to hold. But I am really happy how well I had played, a simple spine/spore in every base and it was a easy win!
My ZvZ was also a solid game, I played well during the early game and held a strong lead. However my opponent was able to crawl back and create a unbeatable roach/hydra army. Unfortunately I think its time to put my Muta's to bed and begin to use roach again. This is something I will be learning over the next few days.
Game Summary and Points of Improvement
Vs Protoss (0-1)
- Always assume the protoss player will not react intelligently.
- Remember to add static defense, when moving out.
- Improve two gate and cannon rush defense.
Vs Terran(2-0)
- Continue to be OP!
- Practice 2 rax defense.
Vs Zerg (0-1)
- Re-learn the "3 queen roach style" and use a maxed Roach/Bane attack to end games.
Overall I am really happy with my progress, I just need to refine my builds and then I can finely push for masters!
Stream Summary
As stated previously I will not be streaming until the 4th of June at the earliest due to exam commitments.
Further Comments
While preparing to write this blog I noticed a TL post by CSN, they are about to begin a web-series where Polt and Violet recruit a team of amateurs and coach them over a few weeks starting in June. By the time this starts I will have my exams done and will be in full Starcraft mode. As a result I will be applying to this program as it fits right in with the project I am currently doing. I hope my extra effort in helping both myself and you guys physically and in game will get me a place on this program. I hope gaining the place will really help my play move forward which in turn will mean I will be able to provide better content on my stream.
As always thanks for reading, wish me luck!
