Hey guys, this has been bugging me ever since I looked on r/Starcraft today. I'm just going to prelude this with the fact that I am a Protoss player and I wrote the guide on Macro blink for TL Strat, so take that how you will.
This community is hurting Starcraft 2. I'm just going to put that fact out there. Remember when Starcraft 2 was a game that everyone was able to enjoy without a bunch of reddit posts about how one race was imbalanced? That is something that I miss. I went on r/Starcraft today after IEM and saw that at least 15 of the 25 posts on the front pages were related to Blink in PvT. I understand that the build is strong and hard to stop. I would probably be frustrated too if I lost to an all-in like that. However, many people (I really hope that it is simply the vocal minority, but I don't know anymore) have decided to give zero credit to any of the Protoss players out there and simply say that herO and sOs won because Protoss is imbalanced. This balance whining has been going on for months and it has even been acknowledged by Blizzard that something is wrong.
You guys need to just lay back, chill, and enjoy the Starcraft. Do you guys know what my favorite game of the day was? Game 1 of sOs vs Jjakji. Yeah, the one where sOs went Phoenix-Colossus into 3 SG Carriers. That build was f**king amazing how sOs was able to pull that off. Do you know how much guts that takes in order to do something like that in a tournament? It was an incredible gamble and it would have backfired had he not thrown down perfect FFs. Where was the love for that move? I don't see it anywhere on the first 5 pages on Reddit. Come on guys, that is ridiculous. Instead of bitching about how Blink all-ins are overpowered (in your Gold League opinions), go talk about how good the games were that Polt/TaeJa/whoever won! I see a couple of people have done that with herO vs Polt Game 2, and I would like to applaud those people.
No one wins if you just sit there and post "GRRR PROTOSS IS IMBALANCED RAGE RAGE RAGE" on reddit. No one cares what your opinion is. Blizzard is not going to change its' entire game based on one post on reddit. So really, stop it. If you are getting angry by simply WATCHING a game of Starcraft, why are you even here? It's a game, you are supposed to be having fun while either playing it or watching it!
While I do agree that watching Blink plays in PvT 5 games in a row is really boring, you guys are taking it way over the line. It's perfectly fine to bitch a little bit, but the rate this community has been going, there is going to be no one left willing to interact with other SC2 players quicker than you think. Also, what does someone who wants to get into SC2 think when all they see are people raging about the game? Isn't that why we are better than the LoL community (sorry LoL guys, there are nice LoL people out there but I have bad experiences with other players there)?
Lastly, people who are in places of popularity in this community should stop pouring gasoline on the fire. I can understand people who are still in the thick of emotions and such (like TaeJa's tweet) can say things like this, but people who are completely detached from the situation (Totalbiscuit, I'm looking at you) are doing nothing but making the situation worse.
TL;DR Stop bitching about Starcraft, you are killing e-sports. Games are meant to be fun, and if you get angry just by watching a game, don't watch it. Simple as that.

Sorry for the rant, just wanted to get that off of my chest.

Then stop be so sensitive. This isn't just happening now, it was like this during the 1-1-1 era, the BL/infest or and even the HoTS hellbat drops era. So stop bitching. If you get mad just by reading Reddit and TL, don't read it, simple as that.
When you post things like 'in your Gold League opinions', it doesn't help at all.

If you get mad just by reading Reddit and TL, don't read it, simple as that. When you post things like 'in your Gold League opinions', it doesn't help at all. Yes, he could've taken out the gold league part and such but this blogs intention was to tell the community to take it easy, relax, enjoy the game and let Blizzard handle the patching since they know about blink all-ins and such. You're right that there was a lot of bitching during the 1-1-1 era, Broodlord-infestor era, the hellbat era etc... but it gets tiresome for those who are enjoying the community and have to put with it. I don't watch SCII much these days but I tuned into IEM yesterday and for whatever reason today and after sOs won, there were 3-4(or 4-5?) pages in the LR with most discrediting the win, calling protoss shit etc... A little whining is fine but I think it's excessive and I know those who truly enjoy the game and hang in the LR don't like it either. I personally think the mods should be much stricter to avoid it getting out of control. Imagine if SCII was like BW where Blizzard stopped patching it, I doubt we'll see as many complaints as we do now because it would be known that complaining won't get things patched.
OP, I can understand your concern. The SCII community has become more balance whiny than usual lately. Even though some of the other eras were just as bad, for some reason, this one feels worse, dunno why. I think you should avoid using things like gold league players etc... because you are trying to reach out to people and not get them riled up. I think it will calm down eventually after Blizzard patches so can't do much but weather the storm.

The age old question, who's worse: The guy who bitches about free ice cream Or the guy who tells him he's an idiot.
So, yeah.

Dunno man I just never touch reddit and try to be relentlessly positive and upbeat in the LR
I also try to disuade any balance talk by bringing up cool stuff and Harry Potter
It's made me really love the game again and introduced me to a lot of cool people. The less than cool people don't bother me.
Maybe just stay away from reddit

I don't know, dude, was there ever a time when someone was not complaining about race balance on reddit? See this another way, the complaining means that the metagame is flowing which indicates a healthy game. Also, consider that all this rage means that people are still invested in the game. I agree that the complaining can get out of hand, especially if Blizzard knee-jerk patches (I hope DK wears good ear plugs). But, overall, take a deep breath and let it go. Hope the rant helped though.
Oh yeah, and remember that SC2 is serious business!

Bah. Who cares? You know what? If you really are THAT PASSIONATE, then nothing will stop you. Not the downers, not the whining, not the drama...
True passion denies that which seeks to dampen your pride.
If you're really passionate about StarCraft, then sure, you might get angry once in awhile. You might rage. It comes with being invested heavily in something. But even so, you'll dig your heels in, fighting hard to find that special something that makes you feel alive inside. I know that when I was passionate about this game, that was sure as hell what I did. And when someone bitched or whined or tried to put a dampen on my happiness, I turned that right back around and used it to fuel myself.
And for the rest? Well, maybe their passion never was SC. Maybe it WAS their passion, at one point or another, but then that fire died.
Maybe bitching and moaning replaced that special something that SC provided.
Who gives a shit?
Also, stop with the "eSports" bullshit. That shit shouldn't be the foundation of a gaming community. The foundation is the game. The GAME, and the passion that comes with it. All these people complaining left and right, I wonder why?
Somewhere down the line the foundation shifted.

I think the OP mis interpreted the opera thing Totalbiscuit did. That was supposed to make fun of the morons that are bitchin :/ Its kinda like how south park makes fun of dumass celebs that have a following. Its a way for sane people to band together.
And the OP should know that its like that every where and since the beggning of time. Even in broodwar people were always bitching about the top race of their times (like the time of the 6 toss dragons, or jaedongs/flash's rule). I bet people probably complained about Boxer's rushing as well.
