One of the most influential aspects of my artistic growth has come from being apart of a global community, as a consumer and contributor, through the power of the internet. My hobby and past time has been, for the last ten years, the myriad of aspects erupting from eSports. Ever since I began consuming the content provided by community members and the grass roots effort to bring the phenomenon to the masses, I’ve been contributing as well.
TeamLiquid has been a community that I consider myself affiliated with for a good while now. Recently wo1fwood has posted a resource that focuses on the very growth and talent aspect of the online contributing artist group. If you have any artistic interest or appreciation I’d urge you to check out:
You will find resources, guides, and a listing of contributors as well as aspiring artists that donate their time, passion, and aspirations to the global community that resides under the umbrella of TeamLiquid and the enjoyment of eSports.
For posterity, I’ll be posting my admission petition below:

Hey there, I really love art - too bad I am so untalented I cannot even draw a duck-_- I like your Grubby logo - I don't really like the writing below it, but the logo in itself is really catchy, good work.
I also do like your streaming overlays, I think they are very smooth, clean and good looking. Perfect job on those while I don't believe its hard for for someone with simple photoshop skills even, you did a very pleasant job with them.
On the Stalker - is that original art of you? All from the scratch or is it based on a drawing/fanart/official art? If its original, I believe its masterful - if not it would be good if you could post the original art and what you based your work on / give credit to the person who did it.
Awesome post, hope you can show a bit more of your art

NarutO, Thanks for the feedback. I wish the text would have turned out a little more universally likable. I am however, very happy with the logo. I am glad that you enjoy it as a whole, as well.
You are correct in that simple overlays require very little PS skills. But, complex and flexible ones that require a team to iterate on and have the flexibility to be shaped and grown efficiently I would consider a very high skill level project for Photoshop. Remember there are a lot of problem solving skills involved in the design. Negotiating a canvas that isn't fully in your control, texture, values, and theme that fit for the team and gameplay, player and sponsor information as well as team identification, webcam placement, and finally advertising spots and mechanics are all very important aspects that hang in the balance.
Also, I think one of the things that makes both TL overlays unique in some regard is that I hand illustrated much of the interface to give it a more intimate and crafted feel. Many overlays rely on stalk CG textures in combination of Photoshop layer filters and fx. I wanted TeamLiquid overlays to convey that same homegrown feel of passion for a craft that is forged to skill and mastery that the site itself is well known for.
The Stalker is indeed my original illustration work, done initially as an out of game stream overlay for Grubby when I was more involved in creating his stream assets. Thanks for the appreciation of the piece, and also thanks for being protective of original artists being hi-jacked of their hard work, I've seen a fair amount of my work posed as someone else's in my time.

*cough* I would need a banner for the OGN Winter Championship 2013 Teamliquid coverage *cough*
Since my creative art skills are the equivalent to a three year old. I can only appreciate the amount of time which is neccessary to do such art.

Hah! It was neat to investigate and find out that I'd actually read an entry to your indie game design blog before without knowing you were affiliated with TL. Good work, and impressive sticktoitiveness. I did a while of working full time and volunteering on an indie game on the side, and the 12+ hour days definitely necessitate some deep passion or major belief in your ideas.
I'm looking forward to the release of Mecromage! I mean... at first I was like mehhhhhh but then... that elevator :D

Thanks for your reply :-)! I don't see any reason to comment on any of it as I agree and just want to point out again that I feel that stalker is a masterpiece. (even though I have to say, GO MAKE TERRAN STUFF <3 )
