Ghent and Lille Travel Advice

Hi TeamLiquid People,

I am going to Ghent, Belgium, and Lille, France in a few weeks.

We'll be staying near the Gent-Sint-Pieters train station while we're in Ghent, and near the Gare de Lille Flandres train station while we're in Lille.

Does anyone have any travel advice for me? Interesting things I should see or shops I should visit? A very helpful tip would be for restaurants to check out.

I'm just leaving france now, but having had family living there for a while now, I feel like you can't really go wrong with the food. Probably any decent looking restaurant that you go to in lille is gonna be good.

packrat386: where did you stay in France? what did you find particularly good?

I've been mostly to Paris before. I like trying whatever's local.

I've only been to paris and bayeux, but in general I find that tiny hole in the wall restaurants continually surprise me with how good they are. Also if you get a chance you should try the cider. Its delicious, and I'm going to miss it.
