Unfortunately, I'm going to have to put this off a week. I want to have some decent sounding recordings done for at least a few songs so when people watch, they will have something to take with them if they like it. I'm planning on doing only recording after work this week, so I will hopefully have something to show next week when I do my first performance.
Recording is going well though. I live in a house where it's hard to record without picking up a lot of other noise (And my mic kicks some serious ass), but once I start recording either guitar or voice, you can't hear any of it. My producer will do the best he can to get the noise out. These won't be EP recordings, but they'll be the demos I'll be passing out to people. That being said, I'm going to try my best to make sound as good as possible.
If you're curious, I'm doing individual track recordings. I was planning on simply having a two mic setup, and just playing and singing at the same time. I can do that just fine (be kind of hard to write if I couldn't...), but it sounds different when you record. I can get clearer sound by recording the tracks separetly.
I'm also doing some HEAVY recording. This means I'm dividing songs up into parts, then doing 5 or 6 takes (maybe more) of each part. This will give me a lot of options to get the exact sound I want but is going to take a significant amount of my time to get going.
Anyway, I hope you guys will tune in next week! I will make another blog when I have specifics when the day draws closer. I may do a special performance this weekend to test out streaming and the such, and will let everyone know.
