It has been a long time since I have blogged from here, too long actually.
I have to admit, when I was doing this for a long time I could see myself continuing to improve and play better. I was getting 10 games a day everyday for awhile, taking Sat. and Sun. off to rest and watch awesome SC2. Then another game came along.
DotA 2.
Now I won't lie to anyone here and say that I still played Starcraft. In fact I went almost half a year without playing a single 1v1 of SC2. To say the break was good is a huge understatement. The break was totally needed for me, It showed me that I was too focused on the game and not enough on my self. I decided to bring myself to play some 1v1 last night after me just not wanting to pick the game back up. I was scared to think what would have happened in the time I was gone. Had builds drastically changed? Is there a different meta? I was so caught up in what was so unimportant for me at the time. When I booted up the game again I finally decided, Fuck it, I'll just play a random game. And after so much time away, I was greeted with this:
Well now, nice to see you too Starcraft.
No matter what happens now, I can finally say I made it to Plat. If there is one thing that my friends always said, its that I was never Plat. Now I have made a small step into my overarching goal. Sure I haven't been playing for awhile but now with some new refined motivation I hope to continue to keep up my Starcraft. At the end of the day I will most likely take a week off ladder to do the following:
Work on 1 build for each matchup
At the end of the day, I am happy with what I have done after the game, now I just need to refine and play at the best of my ability.
Now its time to take a nap.
