I love scrolling page by page through the TL automated ban list, and I know there has to be a decent sized population on this site that also enjoys a good lulz in the "Reason: insert mod comment here".
My favorite is when I see anyone with 2k+ posts, just because I know they have something to lose and that TL is usually their most active website (besides 4chan or reddit knockoffs). Those 5kers though... they have to be mad, unless they post in general, then they're just over-opinionated most of the time. The mod comments for high posters are typically excellent, and instead of just saying they're asses or what not they go for the "you've had like 752,031 mod notes, 500,001 warnings, and a 2 week last week... take this month." It's such a joyous moment for me when they include those statistics, especially when they quote the comment they're banned for. I don't have to know anything about the comment, what it was in reference to, or about, it's always a good laugh.
Second in line have got to be the banned users who just make new accounts, and there are plenty. It's quite simple why I like those, it's because the mods don't have to be nice in their comments. Whenever I see a "because fuck you", or "seriously? try harder" I die a little bit inside in the best way possible. The second, and almost as important reason that I love the new account bans is that you get to see which moderators truly have a personality. Some mods have complexes, and it's obvious, but the ones who do their job and maintain a personality or sense of humor really make the Automated Ban List a great experience.
Third in line are the comments about people not speaking English. It's too bad they never quote the comments for those, because I'd personally love to know if some mods give people 2 weeks for things like "dis y u no" rather than another actual language.
As a person who could have statistics posted in a ban since I've been banned and warned so many times, it brings me great comfort to see that there are many more, and much bigger fucktards than myself. Well, that's all, and please post some opinions below if you enjoy occasionally or actively browsing through the Automated Ban List, and why. I'm sure I'll be able to relate.
PS I know this could probably go in Grobyc's thread, but this is far more blogish.

what does "lokinous" mean?
|
"A third thing he mentioned, and this I found most interesting, is that his life is “lokinous.” This is not a word in the dictionary. However, it fits his personality of using words so completely outlandish that we all assume it is smart. Loki, as everyone knows, is a Norse god, prone to evil deeds and trickery, and even generally fond of them. “Nous” means the mind or intellect, though defined by Merriam-Webster it can also mean reason. Therefore, “lokinous,” a term obviously fabricated by Cole, means to have Loki’s reasoning." - Source, talking about Cole Sprouse.

Before your third comment in your OP I was sooo ready to toss in a search of some of your mod actions keke But lol.
Also, hope that Grobyc, you stay un-tempban-requested and work hard! I need that same kind of determination too >< we should definitely do ban awards or what have you.

I once received many a warning and a fair share of bans; I have since repented, and for continuing penance I peruse the ABL thread.

I already did. He's clean.
I think anyone who hates on TL moderation probably just doesn't know what we're talking about. That thread is excellent comedy.

This sounds exactly like something I would write.
Some mods have complexes, and it's obvious,
Although that could probably apply to me too by the way I come off with some bans. T_T
Edit - And yeah, Game has a rather extensive moderation history himself...

No fucking way, I could have sworn he got banned, warned or something many times over :o
Yeah, search gives me this for warnings and this for bans.
I only look at highlight posts pointed out in the discussion thread usually.

How DO you search for mod history of someone? Good ol' red text script?

I only checked the ABL so I missed all the warnings (closed threads). I never thought to search for red text before.

I've been warned a single time for a crass comment I made in general.
It was worth it.
|
Some guy gave a blogger shit about his analysis on a matchup, "Stopped reading after....(long winded explanation of how stupid he was)" and he just so happened to have a blog himself that day offering free mid-masters coaching. So I stood up for this poor blogger and said "Stopped reading after mid-masters". I got banned, he didn't.
Also worth it : )

That's okay, my thread was created as a blog initially as well before it was moved to TL Community lol. The original post is stilled spoilered somewhere in the main post I believe.

or... you could make a bet with kiett on a bisu game, and if bisu wins, you need to find heyoka and ask him to give you a 2 day temp ban xD at least, thats what i did

You just made my month. After my finals and before next semester there will be 3 events I look forward to: the gym, Christmas, and going over everyone's public mod history.

Haha cool ^^
Keep in mind though that searching red text doesn't work that well for people who quote mod actions a lot, e.g. ABL people. Using the bolded name method doesn't work as well for people with names that are commonly bolded by the same token.
Cheers and enjoy though

oh, thanks. thats kind of funny

Why would anyone care if they get banned? Its not like losing your post number means anything, theres no difference from 10 posts or 5000.
