Did my placement, went 5-0, got placed in silver.... wtf? Well its korea and its different. First game was against a top 8 gold, this was promising. My MMR was already happy with me playing higher end gold players. Takes me about 20 games stomping early agression (which might I say is way harder to do with on KR, latency aside, these guys know what they are doing) to get my gold promotion.
Another week or so down the line I'm stomping on plats, I'm looking in MMR stats and seeing that I'm way over the plat line, but bloody season lock is keeping me down. All I can do now I make sure I hold that elusive rank 1 spot in gold for this season. An electronic keepsake for my ego.
Carry on playing, because I'm learning a lot from playing with these guys. Many of whom make the cheesy diamonds i meet on EU and US look like scrubs. My defence has become stellar, I have learned to hold of agression while expanding and crisis management is a lot better now.
Long story short, I am now facing high MMR plats (lol Plat and high MMr shouldn't go together but you know what I mean. I'm at 1350 MMR and playing guys that are near diamond MMR, this bodes well. My goal for the season is to get my MMR on korea to a level higher than on EU/US. I really am improving atm, I went back to us server for a few games and found that without latency my control has improved immensely. Because I don't have half a sec delay, I am able get myself out of situations that I wouldn't normally because I've learned to preemptively micro. Thats what you have to do on korea when playing with lag and it makes doing it on US/EU a breeze.
So this season my goal is to make Diamond on Korea, so I can then finally, hopefully, get master on EU/US. I feel like i've improved more in the last 3 weeks on korea server than the last year not playing there.
Also, I got a new gfx card, can't use it yet tho cause I need an 8pin converter. Oh well, that will arrive tuesday and I will no longer have to suffer thru 1fps lategame ling fights lol
