apocriva Canada66 Posts August 25 2012 02:18 GMT #1 I keep saying that, but I always end up getting attacked! lol! Like that's a good excuse, right? "omg I got attacked in an RTS unfair!" More importantly, I really have to make a conscious effort to stop trying to win and go back to trying to nail my timings and whatnot. It really doesn't matter too much to me if I end up losing a bunch of games. I know that I can win games if I try. It's just that much like Josh Waitzkin's hermit crab metaphor, I need to leave my shell so that I can grow, and it might be painful!! + Show Spoiler + Win vs Chris (Z) Win vs DarkPlanet (T) Win vs Dante (P) Win vs Stackcats (Z) Loss vs palansuya (Z) Loss vs IIIIIIIIIIII (T) This represents my first time getting SCV all-in'd! Sweet! :D Didn't go so well for me, though! haha That said, I do think that I am feeling better about my timings and macro in general after tonight. I made a point of going back to my replays and making sure I was hitting my benchmarks -- which I wasn't in the early games tonight. Whoops! Fix't.

apocriva Canada66 Posts August 25 2012 16:27 GMT #3 I find that my mental state when playing against the AI is so completely different from what it is when in a ladder match that I have a really hard time practicing properly. You're probably right though!

PollarRabbit Turkey14 Posts August 31 2012 11:02 GMT #4 agreed. for some reason I'm much calmer when playing against the ai and tend to screw up less often.( it still happens though I'm also trying to nail down some timings. but like you pointed out, I find myself 'too focused on winning' and forget everything I was planning on doing. Good luck on getting better! (God knows i need it) :D
