TheCore, the new layout developed in conjunction with FoxyMayhem (creator of DarkGrid), is now released in beta! This layout goes far beyond anything I've ever seen in layouts, and improves on JaKaTaK Righty in every way.
It may see changes as this is our first pulic beta. If you're okay with that, and want to take your control to the next level and reduce wrist strain, dive in!

Some of the words need a buddy word, some of them might be fine on their own. We are looking for words that relate to gaining power, speed, accuracy, efficiency, and an edge against the opponent. I'll edit the OP to make it so any ones we like end up on this list.
Hm, first thing I thought of when you mentioned those catch words was a sword. At first types of swords such as Katana, Masamune, etc., but then Excalibur popped up in to my head and led me to this.
Just a heads-up btw, the Game of Thrones section contains spoilers from the book so anyone following the TV series is advised to not read the descriptions.

All awesome :D hax might lead to issues, but is also pretty hilarious. Prussians suggestions take the cake however, very creative stuff. Also, I was considering respelling acies to AcEZ like ace-easy I feel like there are better D&D references, but I couldn't think of anything.

Best name I've come up with in a while, if I do say so myself. The goal of your setup is to have all options on hand like your keyboard is an instrument, optimized for playing the music that is your gameplay. Also practice is essential to learning this new setup, and everybody appreciates that it takes some effort to learn to play the piano - and that it's worth it. This appreciation is valuable to you; getting it from the name is fantastic.
No new name, just justifying why "Leverage" works best, imho:
It is just one word (easier to remember, catchier) Summarizes what the layout does (Should give players who know about wrist problems and those looking for general ergonomic improvement a hint already) Has a double meaning in that it also points at an advantage you will have using the layout (in case this needed to be pointed out; not everyone here is a native speaker, after all) Everyone would call it "Leverage layout" which rolls off the tongue easily (an alliteration, for those who like technical terms)

Leverage is actually my current favorite. I don't necessarily like "Leverage Layout" as a phrase. I think it would be cool if people ended up saying, "hey, you do use leverage?" "Absolutely it really gives me an edge against players that are still using standard"

Why don't you just call it "FoxyMayhem and JaKaTaK's custom keyboard layout"? It's good because what you're talking about is obvious even when you mention it to someone who's never heard of it. If it's too long, maybe "Foxy & JaK's bindings" then.
I suggest not naming this something that's also a dictionary word. It's good to avoid ambiguity and make it easy to find information about.

I have never heard of that saying before. But I do like BearHands as a name. The big issue with that one is if they hear it and don't read it they'll likely search for barehands instead. We'll see, thanks for your input :D

Mmm FoxyJaK is the best combo of our names we found that would work. I definitely like the suggestion of making it a non-dictionary word. Fortunately "BearHands" as one word is not in the dictionary :D
The names DarkCore and Core remind me of Cave Story for some reason...
Anywho, I'm tied between DarkCore and Leverage. I always thought the name Darkgrid was epic, and DarkCore sounds even better. Leverage is a more functional name, and it can explain itself.
So basically, it's between making the name sounds as epic as possible or making the name correspond to the function.

Is there a release date for this if not how close are you guys to finishing the new layout and how much different is it going to be from the dark grid, how hard would you say the transition would be from dark grid to this new layout?
All that's left for the random layouts is writing up the OP that explains how the layout works. It should be very soon. I am too scared to say any numbers after what happened last time.
