Hey Guys,
I will be Flying to Berlin this coming week to visit family and am planning on staying there for a fairly long time. I'm going to be situated around Kurfurstendamm area near the zoo.
This is going to be my first time in Germany/Berlin, and even though I've already started doing some research I'm mostly clueless as far as what there is to do.
Also since I don't know anyone there I'd be keen to meet up and grab a beer with some fellow lovers of Starcraft.
A little about me:
I'm a 21 year old Economics student living in California, low master 1v1 player, my other interests include: sports, electronic music, health/fitness, food, traveling and the womens. Also playing D3 atm :p
Feel free to shoot me a PM if you have some time and wanna hang out, otherwise any suggestions and recommendations would be greatly appreciated,
Later!

Stay strong, Berlin is not going to be awake for another 5 hours. I would bump again at that time :D
All the students from Berlin I know are rather famous for drinking and smoking a spliff at home parties but I am not sure if they are the right crowd for a Economics student from the U.S. ;D
Well I am sure your family has all the tourist activities covered so all I wanted to say was to bump it again in 4-6 hours. Enjoy Berlin, great city !
And try to get a bike while you are there !

Haha thanks, I didn't think of that.

Sick, sprechen sie deutsch?

Being situated at Kudamm (Kurfürstendamm) is great, you'll be able to reach any place you want from there. Is there anything in particular you want to do? If it's just the standard sightseeing program, your family probably will take care of that as Tufas mentioned.

Yeah, pretty ordinary program for now. Will be walking around during the day maybe go shopping for some clothes and find a gym. Haha doubt I'll be hitting up clubs by myself, maybe when my friend from Bonn comes to visit.
I say nothing in particular because I don't know what there is to do that's different to the US. Maybe biergarten? I also see there's going to be some sort of cultural festival nearby this sunday.

If anything just go out and explore. I would love visiting a European country and just seeing the lifestyle and culture of an area always fascinates me. GL HF

Here's some guides of more or less fun things to do in Berlin as a start, although it really does come down to personal preferences and interests:
"Top 10 wacky things to do in Berlin" http://www.guardian.co.uk/travel/2007/dec/13/berlin.top10
"Top 10 quirkiest things to do in Berlin" http://www.expatica.com/de/leisure/travel_tourism/Travel_-Top-10-quirkiest-things-to-do-in-Berlin_14324.html
"Top 10 Best Places and Things To Do in Berlin" http://www.justtravelous.com/en/2011/02/top-ten-places-and-things-in-berlin/
Unusual places I visited in recent months in Berlin:
"Berliner Gruselkabinett" -- chamber of horrors set in a huge WWII air-raid bunker http://www.gruselkabinett-berlin.de/gruselkabinett-en.html
"Märchenhütte Berlin" -- fairy-tale hut theater with fairytales for grown-ups (primarily in German tho I think) http://www.berlin-travel-sightseeing.com/en/shows-musicals-theatres/Fairy-tale-Cottage.html
As for Starcraft stuff in Berlin, I guess you could always lurk for things to come here: http://berlinbarcraft.de/english/
To get around, I recommend getting a day, week, or month pass and make use of public transit. Trains usually run till 1 AM on weekdays, all through the night on Friday and Saturday nights. Metro trams and buses run every night, so do night lines.
Here is the interactive public transit map for Berlin (U-Bahn=subway, S-Bahn=city-trains, trams, buses, etc.): http://www.fahrinfo-berlin.de/Liniennetz/index?language=en
